If the verb ends inSS,X,CH,SHor the letterO, we add +ESin the third person. Ex: Kisses, Fixes, Watches, Crashes, Goes.

If the verb ends in aConsonant + Y, we remove the Y and +IESin the third person. Ex: Hurries, Carries.

Negative SentenceTo form the negative we use the auxiliarydo not. Again, the only variation occurs in the 3rd person where we use does not.

Ex: I do not talk She does not talk We do not study Mike does not study. Time There are two common ways of telling the time:1) Say the hour first and then the minutes. (Hour + Minutes) 6:25 - six twenty-five 9:11 - nine eleven 2:34 - two thirty-four 2) Say the minutes first and then the hour. (Minutes + PAST / TO + Hour)For minutes 1-30 we usePASTafter the minutes.For minutes 31-59 we useTOafter the minutes. 2:35 - twenty-fivetothree 11:20 - twentypasteleven 8:51 - ninetonine

TimeWhen it is15 minutes pastthe hour we normally say:a quarter past 7:15 - a quarter past seven
