The revitalization of the Baltimore Inner Harbor as part of the Key Highway Initiative is a major undertaking that requires the organization and integration of several different programming types, with a goal of bringing attention back to a part of Baltimore that has in recent years become the subject of neglect. The Key Highway Initiative attempts to bring business, retail and living back to a historical neighborhood in Baltimore that claims the Domino Sugar plant and Fort McHenry as its residents, by allowing new and exciting architecture to be constructed in this area. In order for this project and the Key Highway Initiative to be successful, every aspect of the building and the building’s integration with the Key Highway Initiative must be thoroughly considered and designed. The building should be one that combines the several program parts of the Key Highway Initiative into one structure that can act as the beginning or the end of the Key Highway Initiative. Only through a thorough understanding of design and construction can this building come into existence.
