harris.com The RF-7800W multimission HCLOS (High Capacity Line of Sight) Radio builds on the proven RF-7800W platform using OFDM technology to deliver high-speed Ethernet throughput over wireless links. The RF-7800W uses Multiple-Input Multiple Output (MIMO) technology providing over 180 Mbps of Ethernet throughput. Under clear line-of-sight conditions, the RF-7800W can provide robust, long-range connectivity at distances beyond 160 km. The all Internet Protocol (IP) design of the RF-7800W delivers a seamless extension of Ethernet LANs and WANs. The RF-7800W provides unmatched spectral flexibility with support for up to five different channel sizes (5, 10, 20, 40 MHz) in both Point-to-Point (PTP) mode and Point-to- Multipoint (PMP) mode, and center frequency specification in 1 MHz increments. Extremely low latency ensures the successful delivery of bandwidth-intensive applications such as VoIP, real time video, teleconferencing, and C4I. Designed for the harshest outdoor conditions, the radio receives DC power over Ethernet from the indoor unit via standard CAT-5e Ethernet cable. Operating over the 4.4 - 5.875 GHz frequency band, the RF-7800W is extremely versatile in the operating frequency for all deployments. This flexibility is unique and unmatched in the HCLOS market; one radio that can operate continuously over the full frequency band for any deployment scenario. The RF-7800W currently is used in Radio Relay applications, as well as, backhaul communication connectivity both long and short haul. The lightweight, small, and easy to deploy system makes it ideal for connectivity to small command posts; and the high bandwidth and spectral efficiency makes it ideal for core backbone applications at larger network points of presence. Additionally with wide operational frequency options the system is ideal for public safety and first responders to provide ad hoc IP network connectivity. The RF-7800W includes the same level of security as the current platform with FIPS 140-2 Level 2 Certified 256-bit AES or via external Ethernet Inline Network Encryption (INE) devices. The RF- 7800W also incorporates wireless encryption and mutual authentication via Harris proprietary Traffic Flow Security (TFS) encryption, Enhanced Interference Mitigation (EIM) and data smoothing as it is in the RF-7800W-OU440.Using a standard Web browser, an operator has access to all required configuration items and statistics necessary to configure and monitor the operation of the radio. Third-party network management applications can also be utilized via the standard SNMP interface. The RF-7800W provides secure, dependable wireless broadband communications for commercial and military applications. Additional new features additions include embedded GPS module and isolated serial management. Isolated serial management allows the user to monitor and configure the radio via a dedicated management only port which ensure IP traffic and management traffic are physically isolated. In addition to all the new features the RF-7800W will support full over the air compatibility with current deployed RF-7800W-OU440 radio networks.
