®A Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) is a Red Hat Certified Engineer ®(RHCE ) or Red Hat Certified JBoss Developer who attained Red Hat's

highest level of certification by passing and keeping current five

additional hands-on exams on Red Hat technologies. If you pass more

than five, then you achieve a higher level of RHCA. In order to retain

RHCA status, you must keep at least five credentials beyond either

RHCE or RHCJD current. These need not be the same credentials you

Would you like to be part of a team that builds a modern datacenter,

RHCA WITH APPLICATION PLATFORM

CONCENTRATION

An RHCA with an application platform

concentration is a Red Hat Certified Engineer who

has attained Red Hat's highest level of certification,

proving their skills with tasks common for building

and managing tools and applications.

Just about every application today relies on other

software: operating systems, database management

software, even software running in the public cloud.

Whatever it does and wherever it runs, all of this

software together comprises an application

platform. Application platforms play a fundamental

role in modern computing environments.

Applications and the data they use provide all of the

value that information technology brings, and

virtually every application depends on an

application platform. Since pretty much every

organization today relies on applications, there's a

clear connection between business value and

application platforms.

The applications they support run on all kinds of

computers, including mobile phones, desktops,

on-premises servers, and servers in the public cloud.

An effective application platform needs to provide

the right set of services on each of these. A single-

user application running on a phone needs radically

different services for execution and storage than

does an application that runs in the cloud and

supports thousands of simultaneous users.

An RHCA with an application development

concentration is a Red Hat Certified Engineer who

has attained Red Hat's highest level of certification,

proving skills in enterprise application development,

integration, and architecture.

In today's fast paced world people are wondering

what really is application development. Application

development is the process of making or creating an

application to run on various platforms. An

application platform is an operating system. Each

platform has its own rules, regulations, and

requirements to make an application. This is very

important to understand because when making an

application for app development on the various

application platforms you cannot just make one app

and port it over to the next platform.

An RHCA with a cloud concentration is a Red Hat

Certified Engineer who has attained Red Hat's

highest level of certification, proving their skills with

tasks common to cloud infrastructure.

Cloud is a model for enabling ubiquitous, on-demand

access to a shared pool of configurable computing

resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications

and services), which can be rapidly provisioned and

released with minimal management effort. Cloud

provides users and enterprises with various capabilities

to store and process their data in third-party data

centers. It relies on sharing of resources to achieve

coherence and economy of scale, similar to a utility

(like the electricity grid) over a network.

Advocates claim that the cloud allows companies to

avoid upfront infrastructure costs, and focus on

projects that differentiate their businesses instead of

on infrastructure. Proponents also claim that the cloud

allows enterprises to get their applications up and

running faster, with improved manageability and less

maintenance, and enables IT to more rapidly adjust

resources to meet fluctuating and unpredictable

business demand. The present availability of high-

capacity networks, low-cost computers and storage

devices as well as the widespread adoption of hardware

virtualization, service-oriented architecture, and

autonomic and utility computing have led to a growth

in cloud infrastructure. The cloud has become a highly

demanded service or utility due to the advantages of

high computing power, cheap cost of services, high

performance, scalability, accessibility as well as

availability.

RHCA with DevOps Concentration

®An Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) with a

DevOps concentration is a Red Hat Certified

Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Developer

who has attained Red Hat's highest level of

certification, proving their skills and knowledge in

technologies and practices that can accelerate the

process of moving applications and updates from

development through the build and test processes

and on to production.

In traditional, functionally separated organizations

there is rarely cross-departmental integration of

functions with IT operations. DevOps promotes a set

of processes and methods for thinking about

communication and collaboration between

development, QA, and IT operations.

DevOps integration targets product delivery,

continuous testing, quality testing, feature

development, and maintenance releases in order to

improve reliability and security and provide faster

development and deployment cycles. It aids in

software application release management for an

organization by standardizing development

environments. Events can be more easily tracked as

well as resolving documented process control and

granular reporting issues. The DevOps approach

grants developers more control of the environment,

giving infrastructure more application-centric

understanding.
