History of Ride-On Transportation

1987 ~ United Cerebral Palsy designated Consolidated Transportation Services Agency (CTSA) for evening and weekend service with developmental disabilities

1992 ~ San Luis Obispo County performs study which recommends consolidation of social services agency transportation under CTSA

1993 ~ United Cerebral Palsy expands CTSA role to other social service agencies under the Ride-On name – 16 vehicles and 20 drivers

1994 ~ Ride-On receives a grand from CalTrans to look at the feasibility of Ride-On providing services for the general public as a Transportation Management Association (TMA)

1995 ~ Ride-On begins TMA services with their Airport Shuttle and Safe Ride Home 1999 ~ Ride-On’s vanpool program expands to 28 vanpools, with the Cuesta Grade

Widening on Highway 101 – 73 vehicles and 48 drivers 2001 ~ Ride-On provides first public transit contract with the operation of Nipomo Transit 2003 ~ Ride-On begins the Senior Shuttle Program

Tri-Counties Regional Center: riders with developmental disabilities to work and day programs

Medi-Cal Transportation with reimbursement from the State of California

Hospital and Medical Transportation Senior Shuttle Community Interaction Program (CIP): evening and weekend

transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities Private rides for individuals Social Service Agency Support: Vehicle procurement, driver training,

preventative maintenance program, communications, drug testing programs and CHP inspections
