•What are the reason why Rizal get’s sad?

At night, after a whole days work, Rizal often sad. He missed his family, relatives and friends very much. He was also missing his happy life in the cities of Europe and his happy days in Calamba. The death of Leonor Rivera on October 22, 1893 aggravated Rizal’s loneliness.

He said that Josephine Bracken was a pretty young Irish, with brown hair and blue eyes. Her parent’s were Irish nationals, but she was born in Hong Kong on October 6, 1876. Her mother died of children delivery when she, Josephine Bracken was brought to life.

Josephine and Rizal marry each other before God because no one among the priests wants to solemnize their marriage. In that event, Father Obach was involved in that scandal. Rizal and Josephine became the talk of the town

Amidst rebellion in Cuba, Rizal offered himself to serve as a voluntary doctor. Cuba was lacking military doctors for the Spanish soldiers. This plan was organized by Rizal on the information he received from Ferdinand Blumentritt that the health condition in Cuba was very bad.

Rizal felt an unexplainable happiness when he received the approval of Malacanang for his request. At last, he would became free again. Once more, he would have gone to Europe and then to Cuba. Because of the overflowing happiness, Rizal wrote a very emotional poem entitled, “El Canto del Viajero”

At midnight, on July 31, 1896, Rizal on board a ship “Espana” left Dapitan via Manila. Inside the ship Josephine, Narcisa Angelica (granddaughter of Narcisa) three nephews, and six of his loyal students in Dapitan were together with him.

In an unexpected situation, the ship “Isla Luzon” which he supposed to board in was already left via Spain. Rizal was transferred Spanish Warship named “Castella” to wait for another ship going to Spain for the next month. In this ship, he was treated like a visitor.
