Shane HimesWe’ve been looking forward for several weeks now to having Shane Himes speak for us today as they are here spending time with family over the holidays.

Shane and Kaitlin, and their new daughter, Trinity, live in Hamilton, AL, where Shane preaches for the church there. They were here with us at R&C for several months before moving to Hamilton almost two years ago. We all love this great young family and are proud to have them with us to-day, and proud to have Shane speak for us this morning.

SympathyRena Gartland, (99) grandmother of Donna Brantley passed away Tuesday, January 1st in a nursing home in Bryant. Her funeral was held Saturday in Newport.

Ouida Wright had surgery at St. Vincent’s in LR on Thursday.

Wayne Jacobs is recuperating after being hospitalized for several weeks fighting a blood infection.

Carol Edwards will begin chemo-therapy treatments on January 7th.

Cathy Hendricks is recuperating at home after knee replacement.

Baby Shower Policy Update: As we begin the new year we are updating our procedure for baby showers. Moms having their first babies will be given a baby shower as we al-ways have. Babies after the first will be given what we are calling a “Sprinkle”. A sign will be placed on a table in the foyer close to the nursery where you may leave a gift (diapers, wipes, small gift, etc.) for the new baby. Both Showers and Sprinkles will apply to R&C members. New members will be given a shower for the first baby born after they come to R&C. Only these church sponsored events will be advertised on church media.
