Every summer needs a brand new dress. Make the most of your summer tan and pedicure with this babydoll dress that is sure to turn heads. The deep V-neck highlights your neckline and décolletage, while the ruffled sleeve

adds a touch of romance. Rosalie can be styled with strappy sandals, heels or sneaekers. If you aren’t really comfortable with a roomy fit

be sure to make the dress a size smaller.

IMPORTANT Adapt the amount of fabric based on these alterations.

Compare the stated lengths to the measured or desired lengths. Lengthen or shorten the dress by cutting the pattern pieces at the height of the indicated double lines and by moving the pattern pieces X cm apart or on top of each other as required. Make sure that the CF and CB lines and the side seams are always straight.

fabric advice Blends that include cotton, poplin or linen have just the right amount of 'body' to give Rosalie that playful volume. If you have more of a flowing dress in mind, select a (silk)satin or a crepe instead – basically any fabric that has a lovely fluid drape. pattern pieces & seam allowances (in cm)

To prepare the pattern before cutting you must first add the illustrated seam allowances around the paper pattern pieces as shown below.

1. front: 2x

2. back: 1x on fabric fold

3. skirt front: 1x on fabric fold

4. skirt back: 1x on fabric fold

5. sleeve: 2x

6. bias neck binding: 1x on fabric fold (on the bias). You'll need to draw this pattern piece yourself. Draw a rec-tangle using the measurements in the table (in cm).

IMPORTANT Pattern pieces 3 and 4 are the same pattern pieces.

Mark the following important points on the pattern:

• Snip the pattern paper and fabric at the places with a single vertical line (I).

• Cut a small corner out of the fabric at a V notch or at the finished hemline.

• Cut a small corner (V notch) out of the pieces that lie on the fabric fold to mark the middle of these pieces.
