Our students have spoken! When we returned from Spring Break we went to our students for their suggestions on a new nickname for Westview Elementary School. The feedback was awesome! Af-ter reviewing their votes and sug-gestions the students overwhelm-ingly went with the name White-caps! We love it and feel it is a strong, powerful nickname for our school as we move forward!
As this is our last school year at
Grief Point, we will be hosting an
Open House Farewell for all current
and former staff and students on
Thursday, June 13, 2013 between
6:00 and 8:00 pm. There will be
photos, memorabilia and stories to
read. The PAC will have a table set
up to purchase Grief Point items. If
anyone has something unique or
photos of Grief Point they’d like to
share for the occasion, please let
Mrs. Lewis know. More details and
information to follow as we get
closer to the date.

Reminder
Bus Pass Application Forms for
2013-2014 were due back by
May 1st.
Once again, school soccer is upon us
and we have about 45 eager grade
6 and 7 students playing on three
different teams. Mrs. Banks, Ms.
Sullivan and Mrs. Lewis take their
teams each Tuesday to play one of
the other schools in the District.
The weather has been beautiful and
the teams have been playing very
well. Check out the soccer schedule
in the hallway to the gym and come
and cheer on one of our teams!

Lately, our gym has
been grooving to the
sounds of Latin
rhythms as Mike
Clansey has been in-
structing many of our classes in
Zumba. Students from K—
Grade 7 have been really enjoy-
ing it and working up a sweat as
well!
On April 25th the annual Smarter
Than a 6th Grader event was held
at the Max Cameron Theatre. We
would like to thank two of our
Grade 6 students: Annika
Krowitz and Emma Indrebo for
doing an outstanding job repre-
senting Grief Point! Kudos to
Kim Hopper as well, our PAC
secretary, who was one of
the contestants!
