Today’s Program District Governor Marta Knight introduced herself and told about her father, a Rotarian in Tijuana and District Governor of District 4100. She had an “Aha!” moment at a Rotary International Convention when she watched the Parade of Flags. It led to her involvement in Rotary. She especially encourages us all to live out the 4-Way Test every day.

She has led Study Exchanges to Ecuador, providing a Mechanical Cow, school supplies for kids, and vocational training materials for a juvenile prison.

Our Rotary Theme, “Rotary Connects the World” has led to a new Strategic Plan for Rotary International. The core values of the plan are: Diversity, Integrity, Service, Leadership, and Fellowship.

As always, Rotary’s goal is to grow Rotary.

DG Marta also spoke about the Rotary Foundation, and the effectiveness of grant monies available for various programs. She also challenged us to help support District 4100, our Sister District.

She concluded her presentation by announcing that next year, April 17-18, 2020, will be the District 5340 Conference, to be held on Coronado Island.

Marta then presented President Robert with a “Pennies for Polio” jar to advance the End Polio Now effort. President Robert presented District Governor Marta with a bottle of wine.
