PUTTING BACK SOME LOVE INTO YOUR HOME

Brittney Rozenblat, is Anita Benabou

Rozenblat’s eldest daughter. She joined

the firm after spending her formative

years watching her mother rise to the top of

every career mountain she undertook to scale.

“My mom is a role model that any young

woman would be happy to emulate,” she said.

“It has been quite inspirational, as well as

educational, watching her succeed at one task

after another. I have learned lessons that I use

every single day.”

Rozenblat had the best opportunity to emulate

her mother’s meteoric rise (while using her own

talents) in 2010, when Benabou-Rozenblat

started her own brokerage firm, Rozenblat

Realty, specializing in both residential and

commercial real estate. She was pursuing

her university studies at the time, but she fell

madly in love with the real estate business.

“Having workaholic parents, I already had a

finely honed work ethic when I started my full-

time career in the industry,” Rozenblat stated.

And while to many the prospect of working

with one of your parents sounds risqué,

Rozenblat loves the fact that her mother is

her boss “and always looks out for my best

interests.” Her mother feels just as positive

about the experience of working with her

daughter. “There is something so genuinely

life-affirming and exciting about being able

to share my work-day with my progeny,” said

Benabou-Rozenblat. “Most people have no

idea what their parents go through to fulfill

their career requirements. But Brittney

knows... and we appreciate and understand

one another even more this way.”

Having daughter working with mother is

not, however, a free pass. Rozenblat is in

charge of the Residential Sales and Special

Projects dossiers, a very lofty responsibility.

The corporate decision to make Florida part

of their sales turf has really given Brittney

Rozenblat the opportunity to shine. During her

research, she quickly realized that Canadians

were not investing in just one Florida-based

property, but that many investors were buying

bundles of land. “Many people are buying

one condo for themselves and another two

or three as investment properties. So, we are

able to capitalize on this, as a very opportune

1.Welcome the Buyer at Entry: Simple touches of a new clean doormat, maybe a fresh coat of paint (if needed to front door), polishing door handles, potted flowers by your door , add new LED bulbs in the exterior, sweeping or shovelling the exterior for better view and safety.2. Get rid of it: Eliminate the excess that has accumulated, place in storage, have a garage sale or donate to people in need. Your buyers needs to visualize themselves as if they were living there. Please leave some personality so it does not look like generic room as people often purchase into a lifestyle as much as property. Show them the attractive side of your lifestyle but not the excess.3. Spare the Odors: If there is a smell, generally the house will not sell. Don’t just cover them up; fix the source of the smell. Clear drains, air kitchen of old cooking smells, air the basement out, place a dehumidifier in necessary, deodorize the cat litter and scoop litter daily, get rid of furniture embedded with smoke. Also be careful of room sprays, many have allergies and are weary of cover ups. Light a candle or boil some cinnamon sticks.4. Give me some space: Make sure all doors, cabinets and drawers open all the way without bumping into anything or sticking. Clean out entry closet. Move oversized furniture out. Clean counter tops. Store away extra appliances, put away dish racks and other clutter including refrigerator magnets. Get rid of some of your personal pictures. I›ve seen sellers place over 30 photos on 1 small coffee table, that’s a no no!5. Fresh lick of color: Giving your walls a touch up with neutral colors will make your home seem lighter and bigger and quite inviting. Never underestimate the power of paint. In addition, pillows, fresh shower curtain, hung clean towels and flowers inject color and vibrancy. Sometimes all it takes to spruce a room is a unique accessory or art. Don’t forget don’t over clutter your walls with personal photos. 6. Show me off: Nice Hardwood floors under that older carpet? Old cabinet hardware, doorknobs, towel racks and faucet? Exchanging them for polished bronze or nickel can give an entire house an up-to date look. 7. Fix it, clean it: Make minor repairs as necessary, cut back the bushes, repair that unsightly hole in the hallway, place back the switch plate cover you took off years ago (these are cheap…nice to update all so they match) and while you›re at it, put back that kitchen detector (wires are unsightly) and clean everything until it sparkles. Repair the tile grout, wax wooden floors. Let your home shine and Sparkle. 8. Give me light: Simplest of ideas: replace broken bulbs, increase to proper wattage, place lamps in areas that are dark (including the basement); clean windows and pull pack the curtains. Making the house light and airy makes the rooms feel bigger and more attractive.

Strich. "There is a perception that you are getting a great deal." But not all repossessed or As Is properties are a steal, and some people find the idea of buying them upsetting. A bank or a private lender that repossesses a home has a legal obligation to be paid as much as possible for the property, so you may find them less willing to take a discount on the asking price than a family who are desperate to move for personal reasons.However, "As an investment, repossessed homes can offer significant rewards so long as there is equity left in the property, and the sooner you sell it the better," Jacob explains. If your buying or selling your home and wish to sell it without any legal warranty. Your real estate broker has a duty to inform you as the seller or the buyer of the consequences of waiving the warranty of quality. one-of-a-kind artist STANLEY SKLAR

Art is life. Capturing and translating visual images has been Stanley Sklar's calling.

His newest art form has been three dimensional sculptures of homes and institutions reflecting the architecture of Montreal. These buildings, through meticulous attention to detail, tell stories of past and present lives. They may either be showcased on walls or freestanding.

Stanley Sklar's unique passion and love for his creations is evident in each and every piece. From the oldest synagogue on Bagg Street, to the winding outside staircase in Outremont, to wraparound porches in Montreal West, all bear his signature and his unique style.

Sklar studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.) in New York, and at Ecole Contoir Caponi in Montreal. He then pursued his studies in Fine Arts at Ecole Des Beaux Arts. He taught the art of draping at Montreal's Sadie Bronfman Centre.

Most of Sklar's life has been spent in the fashion industry. His talents had already been recognized at that time, as he was as one of the top Canadian dress and evening wear designers. He received the Dupont Award, presented to him by Pierre Balmain. His fashions garnered an international market following.

Sklar has, however, been a student as well as a teacher. His keen eye for detail and precision has brought him to this new form of artistic expression.
