This report on the Katrine Township property has been prepared by S.J. Carmichael, B.Se., FGAC at the request of Lasse Raitanen, 63 A-2nd Street, Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the registered owner of the claim group. It is intended to complete the OPAP reporting obligations, of which Mr. Raitanen has applied for, and been accepted for a total sum of $10,000.00 (ten thousand dollars). Mr. Raitanen's OPAP grant number is OP91-062. The grant was approved on June 29, 1991.This report will also be submitted to the Ministry of Northern Development and Mines for assessment credits. The property comprises twenty-seven contiguous staked claims with a total area of 1,080 acres. The claims are located in the north- central portion of Katrine Township, District of Timiskaming, Larder Lake Mining Division, approximately seventeen miles northeast of Kirkland Lake. The claims have been worked in the past by Kennco in 1969 (Au, Cu) and by Lac in 1979 (Au). Both companies completed limited diamond drilling and have neither proved nor disproved the possibility of an economic gold or base metal deposit. Mr. Raitanen staked the claims in 1990 and proceeded to evaluate the claims by geophysics and diamond drilling. One hole, drilled under this years OPAP grant indicates the properties possibilities lie in copper mineralization associated with the Little Misema Fault. Drill hole K91-1 intersected a 7.5' section of mineralized core which graded 0.25* copper.Total expenditures for 1991 were $13,064.14 and included the drilling of one hole (K91-1, 399.0') and minor stripping. Additional diamond drilling along strike to the west is highly recommended to further test this horizon. The cost of this program, to include two 400' drill holes is estimated at $10.000.00.

Raport on the Katrine Township Property

Larder Lake Mining Division

For

Lasse Raitanen

Introduction

This report on Lasse Raitanen's Katrine Township mining exploration

property has been prepared by S. J. Carmichael Geological

Consultants at the request of Mr. Raitanen. It is a summary of work

completed during the 1991 season via an OPAP grant and is intended

to fulfil both OPAP and assessment obligations. An appropriate

program and budget has been included for additional work.

Information on the property is derived from the records of the

Ministry of Northern Development and Mines and publications by the

Ontario Geological Survey. The author of this report visited the

property several times during the 1991 season and both mapped the

stripped area and logged the drill hole. All work was performed

between May and August, 1991.

Property Location, Access and Facilities

The Raitanen claim group is located in the north central portion of

Katrine Township (NTS 32 D/4), District of Timiskaming and within

the Larder Lake Mining Division, approximately 17 miles northeast

of Kirkland Lake. Access to tjie property is via the McVittie-

Pontiac road which branches from the Larder Lake Station road. A

trail suitable for tucks and ATV leads west to the claims from the

Page 5: RPT ON KATRINE TP PROP

McVittie-Pontiac road 1.5 miles south of the Katrine/Ben Nevis

Township border.

The claim group is bisected by the Little Miseraa River providing a

water source for diamond drilling and stripping operations.

Facilities capable of supporting a mining operation on the property

are not present. Custom milling facilities are available in

Virginiatown, 10 miles to the southeast.

Topography

The topography is quite rugged; the calc-alkaline volcanic ridges

being more resistant to glacial erosion than normal Abitibi

terrain. Intervening valleys, such as that of the Little Misema

River, may be due to Archean faulting and are worthy of attention

during an exploration program. The north section of the property

becomes increasingly rugged as on approaches the Workman Hills.

Land Tormro

The Katrine property comprises 27 staked contiguous unsurveyed

mining claims with a total area of approximately 1,080 acres. The

claim numbers, recorded dates and applied assessment work are

listed in the following table:

will have to be applied by September, 1992.

Property History

Reconnaissance mapping of the area was completed by C.w. Knight of

the O.D.M. in 1920 at a scale of l 1^! mile. This was later revised

in 1928 by T.L. Gledhill. In 1964, a geological map and report was

published by W.A. Hogg of the O.D.M. and covered both Katrine and

Arnold Townships.

The earliest documented work on the claims was by prospector Dave

Lowe in the mid 1940's. Mr. lowe uncovered a sulfide showing within

tuffaceous agglomerate on the south bank of the Little Misema River

on present claim L-1015168. Lowe optioned the ground to Kennco

Explorations in 1969 which completed a horizontal loop survey.

Kennco completed two short pack-sack holes over the showing in

June, 1969 and reported low values in gold and copper. Kennco

dropped the option and allowed the claims to lapse.

In 1979, Long Lac Minerals staked a group of 106 claims in Katrine

and Arnold Townships and covered selected locations (covering

showings) with control grids. One of the areas covered is in the

south-central portion of the Raitanen group. Long Lac Minerals

Page 9: RPT ON KATRINE TP PROP

-4-

completed geological mapping, magnetometer and VLF-EM surveys. Four

diamond drill holes followed in 1980 totalling 1,268.0 ft. No

significant assays were reported, however problems with caving

indicates that the holes may not have intersected the Little Misema

River Fault. No further work was completed and the claims were

allowed to lapse.

The property was then staked by Mr. Raitanen between 1987 and 1988.

Airborne magnetometer and HEM surveys were completed. These were

followed by a ground Max Min II survey and reconnaissance whole-

rock sample program.

Regional Geology

The Raitanen claims are underlain by Archean meta-volcanic and

sediments of the Misema River Subgroup of the Blake River Group.

This subgroup is slightly older than the Noranda Subgroup to the

east and contain lesser calc-alkalic felsic volcanics and more of

the intermediate variety. The whole-rock analysis by Raitanen show

a mixture of both calc-alkalic and tholeiitic indicating the claims

lie very close to the Kinojevis-Blake River Groups contact.

G.A. Hogg (1964) reports that the volcanics in Katrine Township

have been folded to a sequence of broad synclines and anticlines.

One major structure, the Misema Lake - Mist Lake Fault trends east

northeast through both Katrine and Arnold Townships. Hogg also

reports that the structure may be host to gold and/or base metal

mineralization.#

Property Geology

Mapping by Long Lac Minerals in 1980 shows that part of the

Page 10: RPT ON KATRINE TP PROP

-5-

Raitanen ground is underlain by intermediate andesitic flows,

fragmental tuffs and agglomerates with minor interflow cherts and

immature sediments. Geochemical studies by Raitanen essentially

supports the Lac mapping and indicates that more felsic sequences

including dacites and rhyolites of both calc-alkaline and

tholeiitic affinities are present.

As stated previously, the Misema Lake - Mist Lake Fault bisects the

claim group and Lowe Showing appears to be controlled by this

structure. Drilling by both Kennco and Lac did not intersect

significant mineralization associated with this structure, however

the 1991 work by Raitanen indicated that neither Kennco or Lac

drilled their holes deep enough to intersect the structure.

1990 EXPLORATION PROGRAM

Summary

The 1990 exploration program including the testing of the Misema

Lake - Mist Lake Fault with one drill hole and the stripping of a

weak Max Min II anomaly.

A) Diamond Drilling

One hole totalling 399.0 ft. was drilled to test the Misema Lake -

Mist Lake Fault, interpreted to lie under or close to the Little

Misema River. A weak VLF-EM anomaly located by Lac Minerals was

also along section. The hole was located at 3+87 E, 6+28 N and

drilled grid south. Although the hole may have been drilled down

dip, it was calculated that the fault would be better tested

drilling this direction, knowing the difficulties Lac Minerals

encountered during their drilling.

Page 11: RPT ON KATRINE TP PROP

-6-

The Misema Lake - Mist Lake Fault was intersected between 283.0'

and 342.0' and consisted of highly fractured and quartz *- calcite

stringers and veins. Two zones of clay gouge were cored indicating

that the fault is more of an alteration zone rather than one

individual fault. The fault zone appears to mark a contact between

calc-alkaline andesite and a darker coloured calc-alkaline basalt.

The entire section was mineralized with trace to l* chalcopyrite.

A 7.5 ft. section from 312.0-319.5' was mineralized with l-2%

pyrite and minor bornite associated with quartz stringers and

assayed Q.25% Cu. Unfortunately, the section was highly broken and

only 50% core recovery was obtained. A 3.0 ft. section further down

hole/ within the alteration/fault zone assayed Q.1% Cu. Gold assays

were nil throughout.

B) Stripping Program

A small area measuring approximately 60m x 10m was stripped and

washed over a weak Max Min II anomaly located at 8+20 E, 2+70 S.

No mineralization was found and a sample of a rusty gossan-like

material assayed nil gold and base metals. One sample was taken for

whole rock analysis and is plotted on the Jenson Cation Plot. It

lies within the calc-alkaline andesite field. The cause of the weak

anomaly appears to be a short cable effect.

The one intersection in drill hole k91-l of Q.25% Cu over 7.5 ft.

is considered interesting and ,worthy of at least two follow-up

holes. Either two holes to the west to intersect the Misema Lake -

Mist Lake Fault with coincidental VLF-EM anomalies or one undercut

Page 12: RPT ON KATRINE TP PROP

-7-

of K91-1 and one hole to the west are recommended. Mineralization

appears to hosted within a broad altered shear/fault zone with

associated disseminated chalcopyrite mineralization and thus

horizontal loop surveying will probably not locate mineralization.

Further geophysics such I.P. or the Geoprobe system are not

required at this time.

The total cost of drilling two 400 ft. holes is estimated at
