INTRODUCTION TO STUDY

The education of any future manager will be incomplete with out exposure to working in an organization.

As part of MBA course I got the opportunity to visit RUBCO

HUAT WOODS PVT. LTD,and study of the functions of the entire departments in the organization such as Personnel, Marketing, Production, and Accounts.

The main aim of the organizational study is to gain an organizational familiarity and in-depth knowledge about the functions of the various department.

COMPANY PROFILE

RUBCO HUAT WOODS PVT.LTD was registered under Indian Companies Act 1956 and it is joint venture concerned with financial and technical collaboration with long Huat Group Berhard of Malaysia. It was set up in the year 2000 with a plant capacity of 40,000 metric tons per year and it started commercial production only on January 2001. RUBCO HUAT WOODS PVT. LTD., situated at Kinfra small industries Park, Chonadam near Thalassery, Kannur Dist., Kerala State, India.

RUBCO HUAT WOOD is a world leader in rubber wood furniture, this division manufactures a range of elegant furniture and quality edge glued panels using the eco-friendly rubber wood. Rubber wood popularly treats emerging as the Ideal substitute to rain forest wood, as it offers the same strength, durability and Finish as later, and also helps preserve the environment. The products are being Exported to UK, USA, JAPAN and many other countries across the global.

   

PRODUCT PROFILE

Doors and window frames, Office furniture and portions, Modular tables and peripherals for computers, Designer wardrobes, Kitchen cabinet, dining table with chair, computer table, TV stands, sofa sets ,divan cotrocker chains, cot is the main product of the company

Rubco enjoying monopoly in the market. They has no major competitors in market.

There are 10 processes are there in the production

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study is made to a critical evaluation of all the functional department of the company and to find out its strength,weakness,oppertunities and threats and suggesting the company to overcome the weakness to compete among competitors effectively

STRENGTH• Rubco mattress division has lot of product variety and price range.• In the company there exist a cordial relationship between employee and top

level management and among dealers and distributors.• Through effective marketing the rubco products could have acquired with

market acceptance and customer preference with in a short period of being established.

• Rubco has well developed corporate strength; this is one of their major strength.

• Style of leadership that company is leadership through dedication and coordination. That encourages employees of organization to work towards their organizational goals.

WEAKNESS

The company is newly established. There for most of the employees are fresher. There for company has to be conduct lot of training program to make the employees suitable for the work environment. So large volume of productive time is consumed to make enable there in experienced worker to familiarize with their work procedure to be followed. 

The weakness appearing most conspicuous to make their product acceptable

By customer in the higher price compared to their competitors. Rubco going to expand their market overall in south India but

transportationfrom kerala to other market will be a big burden they are facing in themarketing. When comparing to their competitors they can easily supply goodsin to market according to market demand because they are having manufacturing plant in their states.

OPPORTUNITIES

The company has introduced lot of product variety in the market there for customers having lot of alternatives to make their on decision.

Rubco rubwood division is not yet fully tapped their hundred percentage utilization of existing machine capacity so opportunities lies there.

In factory to undertake new project regarding project diversification. Opportunity of identifying the region where introducing more and

more quality products so that product structure can withstand and different regional environment.

Rubco is not facing high level of competition, so their products having higher demand in the market, it is because of the quality policy that they are also adopting in the production process.

Rubco furniture has customer in European countries also. 

THREATS

  Each and every company facing threats in the market because

customers requirements are changing day by day rubco is also facing the same problem

A lot of unauthorized companies are came in to existence in the market they are providing product of low quality at few ever price and attracting small customers

Lack of raw material is also a major threat faced by the company. 

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSIONS

FINDINGS 

Rubco Huat Wood is one of the largest rubber producers in India.  A good relationship is maintained between the management and

the workers. There is very low chance of strike in the company, because only

one trade union is working in the company.   The company is using Malaysian technology and foreign

machineries for production. The production of Rubco is not sufficient to meet demand.  The brand RUBWOOD is very famous among people.

Labour turnover rate is very lowin rubco huatWood Pvt Ltd.  Rubco is getting a god customer satisfaction with the product. 

CONCLUSIONS

During the period of my organization study lot of experience which are applicable in real business life and helped to link theories with practical applications. The overall performance of the company is noted to be satisfactory. Today RUBCO is the largest exporter of natural rubber in the country. Even in domestic market RUBCO is a major supplier of natural rubber to all leading rubber based companies in India. Apart from domestic sale, the company is exporting the range of products to a various continents. The company having an excellent feedback system from its customers, dealers, distributors thereby always giving thrust to new product development and customer satisfaction. The major customers of RUBCO include US, Europe, Africa, Middle East and other Asian countries. The rub wood panels produced by RUBCO are the best of its kind in the country.

SUGGESTIONS

  Rubco has market in other country, but the company has to

strengthen their supply chain. In order to tap the target market the company has strengthen their supply chain all over India

It has lot of franchises in Kerala they must start new outlets in various cities in our county.

It can increase their productivity by utilizing the availability of the employees and by adding plant and machines.

The company has to take care about to provide conveyance

facility to employees.

RECOMMENTATIONS

RUBCO is a largest wood processing in the country. RUBCO is now the largest exporter of natural rubber in the country. Today the main challenges faced by the company are, they could not meet its production as per the demand, people misperceive that rubber wood is of low quality since it is a soft wood. However the company has adopted latest technology in the wood processing. So the company may overcome its limitation by continuously upgrading its process. Through efficient advertisement people meet perception regarding the quality aspect can be removed. Thus RUBCO has bright future in the

field of rubber wood furniture industry.
