The Rustenburg Municipal Area is located in the North West Province of South Africa

and it forms part of the Bojanala Platinum District Municipality. The Rustenburg Local

Municipality is accessible to major South African urban centres such as Johannesburg

and Tshwane, both of which are located approximately 120 km from Rustenburg.

It is one of the most heavily mineralised districts in the world and the platinum mines

in this region are the largest producers of platinum in the world.

The growth of mining in Rustenburg led to a high demand for industrial support and,
