The S-60 is designed to provide defense against aircraft and helicopters, drones. It can also be used against armored ground vehicles in a ground support role.

Tactical anti-aircraft range is 4,000 meters with optical sights and 6,000 meters with radar guidance.

Fire-control equipment consists of a reflex sight for anti-aircraft use and a telescope sight for ground use.

There are few modes of operation: 1.manual with the hand wheels operated by the crew2. semi-autocamtic: assisted with the hand wheels operated by the crew assisted by a servo motor or automatic remotely controlled by a director 3.automatic: zero indicator remotely controlled by radar.

The S-60 system with radar and control system is considered automatic weapon, because all operations for shooting, cartridge case extracting and reloading are automatic.

The cannon design allows both single firing and automatic firing (short and long rows).

Because of the high accuracy of the system it could be used also against drones.

Main advantages of system:- The dynamic parameters of guidance in azimuth and elevation drives and their accuracy is improved;-There is more precise target hitting due to the use of the new reflector sight (day, day-night, or night vision depending on the user’s requirements);- All operator’s necessary data are visualized on a reflector sight;- Integrated way of manual guidance of a cannon in azimuth and elevation (one operator);- Automatic power supply (battery on a cannon) and a central power generator with rectifier on the cannon;- Voice communication is added ( between the firing platoon commanding officer and cannon’s commanding officer);- Cannon’s operating modes (manual, semiautomatic, automatic) stay the same, but their potential is increased;- Operators are reduced to 4 people; - Reduction of damage possibility and increase of service options.

The 57 mm HE-T is high explosive complete round with tracer for anti-aircraft cannon S-60 designed to engage in aerial targets up to 4800 m using the automatic aiming sight and up to 6000m using central aiming sight.

The round consists of the projectile OR-281 U with fuze MG 57 and tracer No. 8. The projectile contains 0,15kg of explosive A-IX-2. The cartridge contains 1,2kg of smokeless powder 11/7 SW and primer KW-5U.
