BISHOP DAVID J. WALKOWIAK ASKS US TO

PRAY FOR OUR SEMINARIANS

Loving God, Raise up dedicated leaders who will shepherd your people and guide them to your Son. Give generous and willing hearts to the seminarians of our Diocese who have heard your call to live a life of service to the Church. Help us to encourage and support them as they strive to become priests who are models of discipleship, possessors of wis-dom and on fire with love for your people. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We especially pray for: Philip A. Wasinski

HELP WANTED! The Art & Environment Committee is re-

sponsible for creating a prayerful environment in the worship

space throughout the liturgical year. Through the use of color,

fabric, flowers, banners, lighting, statuary, sacred images, and

many original elements this committee works to create an envi-

ronment that draws the congregation into the particular season

(Advent, Ordinary Time, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Pente-

cost, etc.) or celebration. Their creative work can be viewed

throughout the year as they help to unfold the annual liturgical

calendar that moves us through the great mysteries of our faith

culminating in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

All members of the faith community, high school age or older,

are eligible to be a part of this ministry. No experience is

required, but a talent for art and decorating is helpful. This

team meets once a month to plan, and some weekends and/or

weekdays to decorate. Please call the Parish Office if you are

interested in being a part of this committee.

A Note from Fr. Anton—TOGETHER WE SERVE : As the new Liturgical year approaches, I am asking you to renew your steward-ship and commitment to God. Please review the TOGETHER WE SERVE booklet you recently received in the mail. This booklet describes the many volun-teer opportunities available here at St Mary's. Along with the booklet is our stewardship renewal form, I encouraged you to fill this out indicating what minis-tries you are interested in sharing your time and talents to as well as your financial offering to our parish for the coming year. This is a great opportunity for our Parish Office to update your Family/Personal contact information, so please fill out the form completely. Good stewardship is an offering of our time, talent and treasure. Modeling our lives after Jesus and contin-ually looking for ways we can share our gifts and give of our-selves in thanksgiving for all that we have. Bring the complet-ed form with you to Mass on Commitment Weekend which will be Nov 7th & 8th. Everyone is invited to bring forward their form at Mass as an offering of thanksgiving and gratitude to God for all of the blessings he has given us in our lives. God Bless, Fr. Anton

We are pleased to welcome our newly baptized child of God into the St Mary’s parish family.

Church Chuckle A priest was worried about asking

the congregation for money for repairs, so, he asked the organist if she could play some inspirational music to get the congregation in a giving mood after he made his ap-peal. “Don’t worry,” she said. “I’ll think of something.” At the end of the appeal, the priest said, “We still need $6,000 more for the new roof. Would those who can pledge at least $100 please stand up.” Just then, the organist began “The Star Spangled Banner.”
