BISHOP DAVID J. WALKOWIAK ASKS US TO

PRAY FOR OUR SEMINARIANS

Loving God, Raise up dedicated leaders who will shepherd your people and guide them to your Son. Give generous and willing hearts to the seminarians of our Diocese who have heard your call to live a life of service to the Church. Help us to encourage and support them as they strive to become priests who are models of discipleship, possessors of wisdom and on fire with love for your people. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We especially pray for: Alexander Erickson

A Note from Fr. Anton—TOGETHER WE SERVE : As the new Liturgical year approaches, I am asking you to renew your steward-ship and commitment to God. Please review the TOGETHER WE SERVE booklet you recently received in the mail. This booklet de-scribes the many volunteer opportunities available here at St Mary's. Along with the booklet is our stewardship renewal form, I encouraged you to fill this out indicating what minis-tries you are interested in sharing your time and talents to as well as your financial offering to our parish for the coming year. This is a great opportunity for our Parish Office to update your Family/Personal contact information, so please fill out the form completely. Good stewardship is an offering of our time, talent and treasure. Modeling our lives after Jesus and contin-ually looking for ways we can share our gifts and give of our-selves in thanksgiving for all that we have. Bring the complet-ed form with you to Mass on Commitment Weekend which will be Nov 7th & 8th. Everyone is invited to bring forward their form at Mass as an offering of thanksgiving and gratitude to God for all of the blessings he has given us in our lives. God Bless, Fr. Anton

On Saturday, November 7th from 9 -11 am, Grace Lutheran

Church – Coopersville has arranged to host a “Kids Against Hunger” packaging event. One third of the food packaged will be given locally to our local food pantry, Coopersville Cares and MARS Ravenna. The other third will be shipped to a third world country. The remaining third of the pack-aged food will be shipped out to other disaster relief ware-house locations. Our goal is to have at least 100 volunteers (kids and adults) from area churches to package 20,000 meals on that day. Anyone who would like to come and help may call Grace Lutheran Church at 616-837-7831 or [email protected].

FOOD PANTRY UPDATE - I want to thank all of you

who continue to support the Coopersville Cares Food Pantry. You have no idea how much of a difference a bag of groceries can make to someone who may have so little to feed themselves or their family. I usually don’t have to ask for sup-plies for our pantry, but these past few months have been very busy for us and our shelves are getting bare!!! We are espe-cially in need of cereal, jam, pudding and jello, pasta and pasta sauce, paper items (paper towels, tissues, toilet pa-per), bar soap, shampoo, toothpaste, laundry soap, dish soap, and diapers – all sizes, and, of course, Macaroni & Cheese and Ramen Noodles!! Thank you in advance for your generosity and know that God will bless you and your efforts in taking care of those who may not be able to provide for themselves. Judy Driedger, Coopersville Cares Board Member and Parishioner.
