urban culture and entertain-

ment magazine targeting cultur-

ally conscious men and women

ages 18-35. As one of the newest

Dallas-based publications, The S

Magazine offers its readers insight-

ful discussions on music, fashion,

entertainment, art, and culture.

A provocative editorial empha-

sis on the overall well-being of

the socially-involved Dallas-ite

allows The S Magazine to extend

its focus far beyond a simple over-

view of the Dallas urban lifestyle.

This publication is a conversa-

tion with real Dallas natives and

residents about topics that are

immediate to this geographic

region and to our social climate.

2011 is the year to increase

brand awareness and circula-

to drive traffic to the magazine,

theSmagazine.com, and our ad-

vertising partners. These endeav-

ors coupled with our fresh take on

Dallas life will make The S Magazine

a definitive voice reflecting the

diversity of Dallas and its residents.

Beyoncé proved it with her Billboard Millenium Award honor. Her success is all her own just like her failure, though she doesn’t have much, would have been her own. In order to harness our own power to “Run the World,” girls and boys alike have to understand that, in every situation, what happens to us starts with us—steps off soapbox.

Nothing further at this time,

he whole theory of artistic

expression—music, fashion,

performance, poetry, etc.—is to

liberate. Liberate the mind, lib-

erate the body, liberate the soul. All these

media seek to take what the spectator, and

to large degree the artist, from common-

place to extreme consciousness.

Jesse Porter is the founder and

inciter of the “Cool Beings Movement”

which seeks to take the Dallas music scene

to the extremes of consciousness—under-

standing the power of words and the culture

of music.

In his event, “The Calling, Vol. 2,”

Jesse has called on innovators in their craft

to carry the torch of defining the Dallas mu-

sic scene. “When it comes to music, you go

to New York, you get it. You go to Chicago,

you get it. You go to Dallas, we want you

to get it just as well.” Dallas has such a rich

music scene—bridging the gaps between

all the different genres

making an eclectic and

diverse canvas. The

artists Jesse has pulled

together represent the

diversity of Dallas

music.
