• Two approaches: Antegrade and Retrograde for the S2 Femoral Nail A/R*

• Only one Nail for Left and Right Side

• Extreme proximal and distal hole positions for extended indications

• Various locking options : Static, Dynamic, Apposition/Compression (for Compression Nails)

• All nails are cannulated

• Non-slotted nail with fluted profile Torsional stability Optimal bending stiffness

• Unique Screw Design: Improved fatigue strength, Lower insertion torque

• Only one Locking Screw Diameter: 5mm for all Femoral and Tibial Nails 9−14mm**

• Distal Nail Design for Guided Locking Technique: 2 longitudinal grooves (one on each side of the nail) between the 2 M/L

Locking Holes to allow easy locking without the need for fluoroscopic guidance

Instrument Design Features

• Innovative instruments Only one Target Device to be used for all Femoral and Tibial Nails

• Distal Targeting Device Accurate Distal Guided Locking for each S2 Nail

• Instruments and Trays are numbered and color coded for sequenced surgical technique

• Promotes minimally invasive surgery by allowing for smaller incisions

Operative Technique

• Distal Guided Locking with a unique Distal Targeting Device Does not require an additional hole to be drilled

• No guide wire exchange needed for all Femoral and Tibial Nails 9−14mm

• Reamed or unreamed insertion option

* The S2 Femur Nail Compression and all S2 Tibial Nails are indicated only for antegrade use.** The 8mm Tibial Nails must be locked distally with 4mm Screws.

Due to the rounded geometry of the thread

and the specialised manufacturing techniques

used, the S2™ 5mm screws are stronger than
