Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord, Welcome !

It is a blessing to have you join the Sacred Heart worshiping community as we celebrate our Eucharistic Liturgy for the 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Your prayerful participation lifts the spirit of all who

gather. May the Risen Lord strengthen your faith through the words of Scripture and the breaking of the Bread of Life we take and eat. Thanks for being with us! This weekend, I welcome Rev. Isaac Honsan to our parish! Fr. Honsan visits us as part of the annual Mission Co-Op, representing the Archdiocese of Imphal, India. He will be speaking at all Masses about the mission work of the Church in his diocese. I am sure our vision of Church will be broadened in our listening. There will be a second collection immediately after our regular collection for the work of the Church in the Archdiocese of Imphal, India. Many thanks for your generosity!! In Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians, today, he urges us “try to understand what is the will of the Lord.” Easier said than done! Paul suggests that we make the most of the opportunities to do good. I’m sure Paul would say that today’s Mission Co-Op is such an opportunity. On your travels this summer, I’m sure you had numerous opportunities to be patient with others on the highway, to be courteous with other drivers. Paul recommends that we live as wise persons, not foolish. In Paul’s mind, we are foolish in not taking an opportunity to practice acts of kindness. In Paul’s thought, performing an act of charity, when the opportunity arises, is the will of God. Recognizing our blessings is an opportunity to give thanks. “Giving thanks always” reveals one’s understanding of God’s will. Each day is an opportunity to be grateful, to practice gratitude. May we be attentive to the opportunities to do God’s will, to do good this week. Peace be with you! God bless, Fr. McKee

Thank you for your continued generous support!

Life is filled with invitations! And sometimes these can lead us to totally unexpected experiences. Here’s an invitation that can lead you to a life of peace, faith and hope!

RCIA, RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS, is a process in which those who are searching and inquiring about the Catholic way of life may make inquiries and determine if they would like to partake of this journey.

WHO IS THE RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR? The Catholic Church designed the RCIA process for individuals who are: Un-baptized and recognize a need for

spirituality in their life. Baptized and raised in another Christian

tradition but interested in learning about the Catholic faith.

Baptized in the Catholic faith or another faith tradition, but never received any formal religious training. Baptized in the Catholic faith but did not

receive the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation or yearns for more knowledge.

There is no pressure or obligation: it is merely a time to inquire. Pease contact Sr. Bridget at 610-449-3000 or [email protected] for more information

The main reason people say they did not become Catholic sooner is because no one INVITED them! Now is the time!

Next Meeting: THIS Monday, August 17 at 1:00pm in air-conditioned Everett Hall

The Pope is Coming!

Get Social !

Although Fr. McKee believes SEPTA is the best way to get into the city,

There is something about the changed pace of our lives during the summer months that makes it a little easier to dedicate time to our spiritual growth. Here is one more suggestion to help you focus on your relationship with God: 8. GO BAREFOOT. Let the child in you come out to play. Taking off your shoes changes your connection with the world. You relax and let your guard down. Chief Luther Standing Bear in T. C. McLuhan's Touch the Earth reminds us: "It was good for the skin to touch Earth and the old people liked to remove their moccasins and walk with bare feet on the sacred Earth. . . The soil was soothing, strengthening, cleansing, and healing." Allow God to soothe, strengthen, cleanse,

and heal you!
