SANTA’S WORKSHOP – CHRISTMAS SHOPPING FOR KIDS

OPENS AT SACRED HEART SCHOOL - DECEMBER 9th

The Workshop is a fun opportunity for your children to independently participate in

the joy of holiday gift giving. The workshop is packed with quality low-cost gifts

priced at or below retail. All profits from this event will help Home & Schoolpurchase items for the school and provide for an all-school assembly. It’s a great

experience for the children and one that will have lasting value in their education.

Congratulations to our Red Knight Achievers - Jackson Adler and Josie StichaThe teachers nominated Jackson and Josie to represent Sacred Heart Catholic School at the “RedKnight Achiever” program at Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School on Dec. 9th. These fine studentswere chosen for their leadership, Christian service, and strong academics. If they choose to attendBSM, they will be awarded a $1000 scholarship. MN FIRST LEGO Robotics League

Sacred Heart School is excited to have its first team participating in the! Minnesota FIRST® LEGO®League.!!! Minnesota FIRST® LEGO® League (MN FLL®) is part of an international program thatincludes more than 200,000 kids in 63 countries. It is a team-based, hands-on program that provideschallenging and exciting learning opportunities for young people. MN FLL spurs innovation,develops teamwork and leadership skills and promotes excitement in science and technology.Each team is judged on the following three categories:The Project:!! Teams conduct research to solve a real-world problem, develop an innovative solutionand present and share their work at the competition and within their communities. They areevaluated in research, innovative solution and presentation.The Robot:! Teams design, build and program autonomous LEGO robots to achieve specific missionsand compete in three 2.5 minute performance rounds at competitions. They are also evaluated onmechanical design, programming and innovation & strategy.

Core Values:! Teams will be evaluated on HOW they finished their project and robot. They will beevaluated in inspiration, teamwork and gracious professionalism.The team has been meeting since early September and will participate in its regional competition onDec 10.! The Christmas Program this year will involve the following grades: K, 1, 3, 5, and 7 performing,The Worst Day of Christmas. The concert is scheduled for Tuesday, December 20th at 6:30 p.m.Please dress in “Sunday” best. What is Santa's Workshop?Santa's Workshop is a fun way for your children to purchase gifts for theirloves-ones right at school. We have gifts for parents, grandparents,siblings, and other special people in their life.

When is Santa's Workshop open?

December 9, 2011 for students in Pre-K to 8th grade.

How much does it cost?

The workshop is packed with quality low-cost gifts priced at or below retail.Cost varies from $2.00 to $8.00. Kids can purchase one gift or many, it isup to you.

Where does the profit go?

Funds raised directly benefit the students and staff of Sacred HeartCatholic School. In previous years, many specialty areas have been therecipient of the funds and an all school assembly is sponsored in the spring.It is a wonderful experience for the children that promotes the spirit ofkindness and giving.

How can my child participate? Fill out the form on the reverse side of this flyer and send it with your childon December 9th. Please be certain to include cash or check (payable toSHCS) in an enclosed envelope. Please use one slip and one check per

child. Your child will return home with gifts ready to be placed under thetree. Change can either be donated or sent home with your child.
