Eucharistic Adoration—Jubilee Year of Mercy
Are you ready to celebrate the extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy? Pope Francis has proclaimed this year of Mercy to begin on Dec. 8, 2015, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception and ending on Nov. 20, 2016, Solemnity of Christ the King. This will be only the fourth extraordinary Jubilee Year in church history and so an unprecedented time of mercy in our lives! To help you celebrate this extraordinary time, and grow closer to Jesus, the Divine Mercy Incarnate, through Mary Immaculate, why not consider spending some quiet time with Jesus.
Eucharistic Adoration is open to all and is held every Tuesday, from 8 AM until 7 PM. Nothing is needed to do this but an open heart to Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Presently, we are in need of adorers for 3 PM, 4 PM and 5 PM. If you are interested in becoming an adorer, please call Joann Di Liberto at 610 932 8962.

The prophet Isaiah gives us a great focus for our meditation in Advent, for he offers us a whole series of images and pictures to describe our sinful condition. Remember, the Biblical authors, for the most part, were not systematic thinkers; they were poets and so they use poetic language. Take this wonderful and terrible line: “all our good deeds are like polluted rags; we have all withered like leaves, and our guilt carries us away like the wind” (Isaiah 65:5). When we have become deeply aware of our sin, we know that we can cling to nothing in ourselves, that everything we offer is, to some degree, tainted, impure. We can’t show our cultural, professional, and personal accomplishments to God as though they are enough to save us. As Isaiah says, we are like withered leaves. God’s grace is the life-force and when we are divorced from it, our lives wither up. We become like the field of dry bones in Ezekiel or the Prodigal Son wandering in a land of famine. Here is where the law of the gift comes into play: when you are lifeless, make of your life a gift, and you will come back to life.

Sacred Heart School News
This past week we concluded our ten week Toddler Time Program where we invited families from the Parish and community to visit our pre k three classroom on a weekly basis. The hour long
program provided a time for free play, a story, snack and structured activity. This year’s activities included fun with food, make and take craft, sign language, music, and gym time.
We would like to thank our school parents for helping to coordinate the weekly programs. We enjoyed getting to know the families who attended each week and look forward to seeing the chil-
dren at future Sacred Heart School activities.
We will celebrate Catholic Schools Week at the beginning of February and begin
accepting applications from new families at that time. To learn more about
Sacred Heart School please contact Jennifer Whelan, Development Director at
