    Continuing the tradition established in 1976, SAE INSTITUTE-SAN FRANCISCO trains students for careers in the entertain-ment industry with a focus on hands-on training where studentsgain invaluable experience working on real-world projects.

    SAE San Francisco currently offers two audio programs: SAEssignature Audio Technology Program (Diploma), and the Elec-tronic Music Producer courses (Certifcate),

    Our belief is that in order for students to be creativeand independent engineers, editors and artists theymust have the combination of theoretical and practi-cal knowledge a combination that gives them the foun-

    dation necessary to solve problems, and work with thevarious people in the industry in a professional man-ner. With over 30 years of educational expertise, SAEscurriculum and the order in which we teach the tech-niques within the lockstep programs enables graduates tocontinue to grow and learn as the equipment and styles of theindustry evolve.

    OUR FACILITIES

    Students have access to over 20 studios and workstationswhile studying at SAE- San Francisco. Including analog anddigital mix-down stations by Mackie and Yamaha, FX stationsand Apple computers throughout to complete digital editingPro Tools, sampling, and remix exercises.

    As the courses progress, students utilize various MIDI stationswith Logic 8 Studio, various samplers outboard equipmentsynths, and sound libraries,

    The 32 channel analog control room is where audio studentsfrst get to record their own music onto hard disk through a largeformat analog console. From that point the course accelerateswith recording in the Yamaha O2R96, Tascam, and SSL AWS900 control rooms where students complete recording andmixing projects in stereo and surround sound in Pro Tools HDAdditional Pro Tools edit suites, the MIDI sampling stationand small vocal booths surround the larger control rooms so

    students can work on mixes, ADR and voice over sessions.

    The last two control rooms that audio students encounter areboth well equipped and accoustically designed. Control Room1 features the Neve GENESYS analog recording console withinstant digital recall recording to Pro Tools HD. Control Room 2offers students a chance to mix in 5.1 Surround Sound using aDigidesign ICON to ProTools HD.

    Upstairs, you'll fnd classrooms and the student area wherestudents can often be found preparing for long project sessions.The entire school is WiFi, and contains multiple on-site serversfor students to book studio time, download resources, andstore projects that have not yet been completed.

    SAE INSTITUTE GRADUATESSAE graduates are working in virtually every aspect of theindustry. Some are studio mangers and engineers, some arewriting music for television series and commercials, whileothers decide to continue their education with SAE in Europe orAustralia to pursue a degree. Upon graduation from a Diplomaprogram, graduates become part of the worldwide SAEAlumni Association (www.sae-alumni.org) where extendedresources for gear and job placement assistance are ongoing.

    Most importantly, SAE graduates have the tools and drive to

    continue to learn and stay up-to-date with the ever changingfelds encompassing "The Entertainment Industry."

    In cooperation with SAEs worldwide industry partners, Diploma program students receive their own laptop computer andsoftware to use for class, labs, homework and is the studentsto keep.

    Please Note: SAE Institute continuously updates studio facilities to

    keep in-line with technological advancements and delivery mediums
