SAI BABA AND SIGNIFICANCE OF NAIVEDYABhagwan Sainath was very fond of worship of Vitthala.

Bhagwantrao's father was a devotee of Vithoba and used to make annual trips to Pandharpur. He had an image of Vithoba at home which he used to worship.

After the death of his father, Bhagwantrao stopped everything-the annual trips to Pandharpur, the worship of Vithoba, and shraddha ceremony also.

When Bhagwantrao came to Shirdi, Baba remembered his father, and said at once " His father was my friend so I dragged him (Bhagwantrao) here. He never offered naivedya (offering of food) and so he starved vithoba and me. So, I brought him here. I shall remonstrate him now and set him to worship."
