SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
May 24, 2020
“I am praying for them…” (John 17:9) Prayer is the foundation of our Faith and
the foundation of Stewardship. Pray in good times and in bad. Prayer is always
the first best option in any situation, not just the last resort. Pray for friends and
family and for those that don’t treat you very well. Pray to give praise, to thank,
and to ask God for help. Pray to see what God wants you to do with the gifts
He has given you.

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
How do you make a Spiritual Communion? Begin by examining your conscience and making a good Act of Contrition.
“My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.”
A Spiritual Communion can never fully take the place of receiving Holy Communion at Mass, but in these extraordinary times it can help us to stay close to Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament of his Body and Blood.
Last year we celebrated the Solemnity of Corpus Christi (The Body and Blood of the Lord) with a 24 hour adoration, a procession and the offer of candles with our intentions. Families who offered a candle could then take their candle home for their personal prayer or dedicate it to the tabernacle lamp at Church
Corpus Christi is celebrated on June 11 (Thursday) so we will be celebrating it on the weekend of JUNE 14/15.
To offer a votive candle with your intentions, please visit our website or call the Rectory and leave a message
with Nancy.
St. Denis will resume
weekend Masses beginning on
MAY 30/31
The Solemnity of PENTECOST!
We anticipate the coming of the Holy Spirit and we anticipate the return of parishioners to St. Denis Church. While we still will not be able to accommodate all, we will continually do our best to do what is right and safe for all.
The coming of the Holy Spirit, promised by the Lord to his disciples at the Last Supper, anticipated by the prophets for centuries, unknown to generations of humanity going back to creation, the Holy Spirit is ready to come into our lives.
Looking at the world today, it may seem that the Holy Spirit has been absent. Let us join together next weekend to pray for the activity of the Holy Spirit in our world, in our communities, and in our hearts.
2020 Partners in Charity Appeal
Once a year, we commit ourselves to this
ongoing work by supporting this life
giving appeal. We reflect on God’s great
generosity and respond with generous
giving of our own. With your support,
faith in action is visible every day in the
compassionate outreach of Catholic Char-
ities, to the least among us; in prayerful
witness of our retired priest and the joy of
new priestly vocations; to the many dioc-
esan ministries and programs that heal,
teach and care for others.
It is important for all of us to participate
in order to support our mission as a
diocese. Please be as generous as
possible. If you have already made a gift
to the 2020 appeal we thank you! Your
gift will help us in reaching our parish
goal.
Please make your gift online at:
