Sunday Reflection from Father Anthony Finally, we have come to the end of this season of Ordinary
Time and liturgical year for that matter! It is a moment when we
look back with joy, as well as, keep hopeful for the next journey
of our faith. There are many stories told about the end of the
world! They have been told before and hopefully will be told
even in the future. The truth about these stories is very
uncertain, no wonder they have been kept to be just stories of
people's imagination. But they could cause fear among us! Yet,
as men and women of faith, we take the words of Jesus
seriously when he says, "But of that day or hour, no one knows,
neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."
It is certain that one day Jesus will come again to judge the
living and the dead. What the church is teaching us is that we
need to be prepared fully, all the time, so we can receive him
with joy whenever he comes! The challenges and calamities,
accidents and disasters we experience today should be
reminders to us that life on earth is short, so we need to always
be well prepared. But, because we have faith, we should never
worry too much. Who knew we could make it to this Sunday?
No one! Let us, therefore, place our trust in God who knows our
destiny and in everything we do, may we have faith in God!
Amen. Happy Sunday!
The month of November is the month
of Remembrance of those who have
gone before us to eternal life. During
November we will have the Book of
Remembrance in the Commons for
names to be added. On each Sunday
and Holyday Liturgy it will be processed
in and will be included in the Prayers of
the Faithful as we do with our Parish Book of
Intentions.

they are, and understanding this teaches us how to truly love everyone.” -USCCB Secretariat of

“On behalf of St Mark’s Justice & Peace Ministry, I would like to sincerely thank all those
who so generously donated clothing, shoes, scarves and hats during our recent winter
clothing collection. As a member of the Catholic Worker breakfast line ministry, I can
tell you that EVERY coat, pair of socks, or sweatshirt is distributed to one of the folks
on the street who would otherwise be without. I wish each of you could see the light
in the eyes of someone who has been in the cold and who now has a warm pair of
gloves and a nice, thick jacket. They are SO appreciative. If you would like more
information about this ministry, please contact Mary Ann Collins (757-436-4644) or
[email protected]. Thank you and God bless you.”
