Pastor’s Reflections… Dear Parishioners,
I pray that this letter finds you well and safe. We find ourselves in a time of testing and pain when in this blessed season we should be joyfully anticipating the celebration of Holy Week and Easter. However, in spite of all that is happening, we realize that God is nearer to us than we are to ourselves. We draw on our years of grace and spirituality to see us through—this is Faith. The glory of the Cross and Resurrection is not diminished by anything in this world—this is Hope. Christ is with us and embraces us with His healing touch—this is Love.
Please plan to celebrate Holy Week and Easter this year with your family and your Church, whether on-line or via television. However you and your loved ones choose to pray and celebrate, I am assured that you will know the blessed presence of Christ among you.
And know that Faith, Hope, and Love endure forever—this is Peace.
God bless you and your loved ones as we come to once again experience the presence of the living Christ among us! How can we continue to participate in the life of our Church…

About our Finances…
We depend on the weekly collection to meet our financial obligations. Since we are not permitted Masses, we have no regular support. Because of on-line giving and parishioners who drop off their offering at the rectory, we are collecting about 20% of our usual weekly contributions. Thank you! How we weather this storm will probably affect what our parish will look like in the future. Please do what you can to help support our parish and prayerfully consider increasing your offering as it may take some time to recoup when the crisis is over. Please continue to use the weekly envelopes and send in your offerings by mail or by drop off at the parish office in the mail slot. If you do not have envelopes, please use any plain envelope. You can also sign up for Parish Giving at www.ParishGiving.org or call 1-866-307-7140.
From my heart, thank you for everything you do for us at St. Rose of Lima. May Mary, our Lady of Good Health, watch over you and your loved ones.

THAT UPLIFT Passion (Palm) Sunday (Matthew 26:14-27:66) Fr. Michael Brizio, IMC
www.frmichaelbrizio.com
So, who killed Jesus? I don’t think that we can pin it down. It seems that everybody was involved, but that nobody was really responsible.
That reminds me of a comment by a Polish philosopher whose name is Leszek Kolokowski. Kolokowski told of watching an American television program that featured an interview with a young man who had been convicted of brutally raping and killing a little girl. This young man explained his actions by saying, “Everybody makes mistakes.” Kolokowski, the Polish philosopher commented, “And so, we now know who raped the child: ‘everybody,’ that is, nobody.”
Charles Colson tells that story in his book, Kingdoms in Conflict, to illustrate an attitude that is very popular today.
Terrible things happen, but nobody is responsible. One reason that nobody is responsible is that everybody is responsible. “Everybody makes mistakes,” so don’t blame me. If I made a mistake, I am like you––and him––and her. Don’t single me out. Everyone is doing it.
The columnist, John Leo, dubs this the “It’s-not-my-fault syndrome.”
