HAITI PLUNGE MISSION—St. Thomas is pleased to have two young men from our parish joining a team of high school youth from Western Mass. that will be sacrificing their February vacation to serve the poorest of the poor in Haiti. Michael Paige and Brendan Stenwick, along with Fr. Matt and Sr. Eunice Tassone, SSJ, will be making a mission journey to the mountain regions of Haiti to continue a long tradition and mission which began well over 30 years ago by the Haiti Plunge, Inc. They are looking to our parish for support to make this a true parish mission. Through your support you will not only be helping Michel and Brendan, but the many people they will serve on this mission. A second collection will be taken this weekend. If you are unable to contribute this weekend and would like to, please drop your donation in an envelope marked "Haiti Plunge" in the collection basket or at the rectory in the next few weeks. Checks can be made payable to "Haiti Plunge." Many thanks for your support to bring the good of our parish to those most in need.

MAKE UP CLASS: Wednesday, October 28, 6:30-7:30 p.m. If your child is in grades 7-10 and missed a class this month, he/she is required to make this class up as there are only 12 classes per year and attendance is essential. The last Wednesday of each month has been designated as a “Make-Up Day”. Missed classes are to be made up in the month that the class has been missed.
St. Thomas the Apostle School News Again this year the faculty and staff of St. Thomas are responsible for a meal for the Ecumenical Outreach Program. On the second Wednesday of every month the meal, salad, and
dessert are provided by our faculty. The preschool students had a terrific day at Brown's Harvest Farm last week. They enjoyed a hayride, corn maze, apple cider, and doughnuts after they had picked the perfect pumpkin, of course! The junior high students have sent introductory and/or fall greetings to their homebound "Buddies". The students are paired with one or two homebound parishioners to whom they write approximately seven times during the school year. The students send very creative letters or cards, and the parishioners often send word that they are delighted to receive the correspondences. Our Student Council elections were held this week and we are happy to announce the results:
President: Mia Felix, Vice President: Ethan Rivers, Secretary: Janet Asselin, Treasurer: Ana Accordino
Thank you and congratulations to all who ran for office and to those students who will be class representatives! If you wish to learn more about St. Thomas the Apostle School, please visit us at www.stthomasws.org. Thank you!
ATTENTION ALL PROSPECTIVE FRESHMEN: Saint Mary High School will host an Open House on the 27th of October at 6:00 pm. Students and their families will have an opportunity to learn why an education at St. Mary’s Parish High School is a gift.

To learn more about our challenging curriculum, new AP Courses and sports programs, please join us at the Open House. Through a lottery, ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to one student per school represented. You must be present to win.
