Articles need to be submitted, in writing, to the Rectory by 11:00 am Friday the week before the Bulletin is printed.

Sainte Anne Parish is a faith community in the Roman Catholic tradition. We strive to live up to the motto: "We Are Family". We see ourselves as a local expression of the universal Church, the People of God, the Body of Christ. Through God's grace we seek to be welcoming and loving. Our life centers on the week-end celebration of the Eucharist. We meet Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and are then challenged to bring His love to others.

O glorious St. Ann, you are filled with compas-sion for those who invoke you and with love for those who suffer! Heavily burdened with the weight of my troubles, I cast myself at your feet and humbly beg of you to take the present inten-tion which I recommend to you in your special care.

Please recommend it to your daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and place it before the throne of Jesus, so that He may bring it to a happy issue. Continue to intercede for me until my request is granted. But, above all, obtain for me the grace one day to see my God face to face, and with you and Mary and all the saints to praise and bless Him for all eternity. Amen.

To have the bulletin delivered to your email each week, go to http://www.pilotbulletins.net/sign-up/ and scroll down the Church Directory to find Ste Anne and register.

PRAYER BOX Sainte Anne's Tuesday Rosary group has always strived to bring the intentions of all to our Blessed Mother. To help in that endeav-or a "Prayer Box" has graciously been donated by one of the group's members. During the week the box will be on the table at the rear of the main church along with a small pad of paper and a pen. Anyone wishing to ask for the intercession of Mary may place their request in the box. On Tuesday evening during the Rosary the box will be placed at the feet of the Statue of our Blessed Mother which is just to the side of the Blessed Sacrament.

Tuesday Evening Adoration and Rosary: Please join in the Tuesday evening 6:30p.m. Eucharistic Adoration and Praying of the Holy Rosary. With extra effort we could fill our chapel with praying people. Pray especially for the renewal and growth of Ste. Anne Parish. Mary, the Mother of the Lord, has constantly asked for the daily praying of the Rosary. At the very least try to join in this prayer once a week.

Sacrament of the Sick: One of the gifts of the Second Vatican Council was the renewal of the Sacrament of the Anoint-ing of the Sick. This beautiful sacra-ment is no longer reserved for a person in danger of death, but should be cele-brated by anyone with a serious illness, a person facing serious surgery, or a person in a weakened condition. The next celebration of this sacrament will be following the 4:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Sep-tember 21st. The sacrament is also available for people in their homes by calling the rectory at 978-744-1930. Anyone terminally ill or beginning Hospice Care should receive this sacrament as soon as possible.

Prayers for Priests and Seminarians: Please pray each day for our Boston priests and Boston seminarians. Saturday Saturday – Fr. David Marcham and Joseph Hubbard; Sunday – Fr. Richard O’Brien and Denis Nakkeeran; Monday – Fr. E. Paul Sullivan and Matthew Norwood; Tuesday – Fr.. Gregory Vozzo and Daniel Zinger; Wednesday Fr. Edward McDonagh and Giovani Argote; Thursday – Fr. Francis P O’Brien and Fernando Ayala ; Friday – Fr. Thomas C Foley and David Campo; Saturday – Fr. Paul Ritt and Gabriel Hanley.

Across Greater Boston, we are blessed with priests who enliven and enrich not only our parish but our surrounding communities. Through their ministry, they work tirelessly to bring Christ’s love to all those who need it. Truly, the strength and vibrancy of our parishes and broader communities depend on the health and well-being of our priests. Please support our priests by making a gift to the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust at clergytrust.org or by giving generously to the upcoming special collection on Septem-ber 14/15. This dedicated second collection is a primary source of funding to care for our priests. Your generosity is very much appreciated.

September 1 ~ Twenty-second Sunday of Ordinary Time Today’s readings highlight the importance of the virtue of humil-ity. In the first reading we hear, “conduct your affairs with hu-mility, and you will be loved more than a giver of gifts.” In the Gospel parable, we hear Jesus say, “everyone who exalts him-self will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Humility is a rare quality in today’s world. The humble person recognizes that all we have and all we are is a gift from God. This week take some time to thank and praise God for all that has been given to you so that you may grow in humility.

To Go Up Higher

Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time (Cycle C) Sirach 3:17-18, 20, 28-29, Psalm 68:4-7,10-11, Hebrews 12:18-19, 22-24, Luke 14:1, 7-14 We come to the wedding banquet of heaven by way of humility and charity. This is the fatherly instruction we hear in today's First Reading, and the message of today's Gospel. Jesus is not talking simply about good table manners. He is re-vealing the way of the kingdom, in which the one who would be greatest would be the servant of all (see Luke 22:24-27). This is the way He showed us, humbling Himself to come among us as a man (see Philippians 2:5-8), as one who serves, as the bearer of glad tidings to the poor (see Luke 4:18). This is the way, too, that the Father has shown us down through the ages - filling the hungry, sending the rich away empty, lifting up the lowly, pulling down the proud (see Luke 1:52-53). We again call to mind the Exodus in today's Psalm - how in His goodness the Lord led the Israelites from imprisonment to pros-perity, rained down bread from heaven, made them His inher-itance, becoming a "Father of orphans." We now too have gained a share of His inheritance. We are to live humbly, knowing we are are not worthy to receive from His table (see Luke 6:7; 15:21). We are to give alms, remembering we were ransomed from sin by the price of His blood (see 1 Co-rinthians 6:19-20). The Lord promises that if we are humble we will be exalted and find favor with God; that if we are kind to those who can never repay us, we will atone for sins, and find blessing in the resurrec-tion of the righteous. We anticipate the fulfillment of those promises in every Eucharist, today's Epistle tells us. In the Mass, we enter the festal gathering of the angels and the firstborn children of God, the liturgy of the heavenly Jerusalem in which Jesus is the high priest, the King who calls us to come up higher (see Proverbs 25:6-7). St. Michael Prayer: In view of the many crises throughout the world, in our own country, and in the Church, a growing number of the American bishops are requiring or requesting that the Prayer to St. Michael, the Archangel, be prayed at the end of every Mass. We are now praying this prayer after Daily Mass and on the week-ends at all Masses. It is found in the bulletin and can be found on the back cover of the Heritage Missal. This prayer was also prayed after each Mass until the 1960s. Pray it also in your families.

Healthier Priests. Stronger Communities.

Funds from this special collection are managed by the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust – an independently managed trust with a majority lay board of trustees. The funds are used for the sole benefit of active and senior priests in good standing.

The strength and vibrancy of our communities depend largely on the welfare of our priests who tirelessly serve others from all walks of life.

Powerful examples of strength in community are visible across 144 cities and towns of the Archdiocese of Boston. The roots of these communities can be traced back to the work of our priests.

Pine Street Inn: A Boston priest was one of the original founders of Pine Street Inn, which provides shelter and emergency services for nearly 2,000 homeless men and women in the Boston area every day.

Cor Unum: Started by a Lawrence pastor, Cor Unum (“One Heart”) food pantry serves more than 250,000 meals annually to poverty-stricken families in Lawrence.

Addiction Support for Families: A Boston priest’s expertise in addiction and recovery has been instrumental for organizations helping families and individuals in the grips of addiction.

Rostro de Cristo: Efforts to help the poor on the margins of Ecuador’s largest city is hard work, except for those who have been inspired by a Boston priest who started Rostro de Cristo, an organization based in Boston that lives the Gospel and serves the poor.

It’s simple: healthier priests mean stronger communities. Please support clergytrust.org
