Efciency begins with high production and is enhanced with robust cows that possess the tness traits

that are appreciated by dairybusiness operators everywhere.

Our breeding puts a special emphasis on protein pounds. Not only is our bottom line affected by

protein pounds sold, but we know that a global dairy herd with increased protein production will help

in feeding a growing world. Five of the top 30 gPTAP active young bulls in the breed are from

Shauna (Supersire, Platinum, Diamond) and Seagull-Bay Oman Mirror (grandsons Mayower and

Midnight). You will nd many of the lots offered have PTAP over 60 with 5 heifers over 70.

Certainly our current greatest breeding success is Seagull-Bay Supersire. It is exciting to see Supersire

used all over the world by breeders, bull studs, and regular dairies alike. His genomic promise is to

transmit precisely what we strive to breed for: high production and good tness. With Shauna on the

bottom side and Seagull-Bay Oman Mirror on the top side, Supersire is the posterboy of our breedingprogram.

Shauna is a very special cow. Her impressive dairy strength combined with a fantastic udder makes her easy to like.

On top of that she produced over 1400# fat and nearly 1100 # protein on a mostly 2X lactation. Shauna completes8 generations of VG/EX cows with 7 of the 8 carrying the Dam of Merit distinction Four of her oldest daughters are

now milking and their high production and beautiful udders remind us of their famous dam.

Shauna, through her sons, is perhaps the leading global source for high protein pounds. The economic reward for

protein production is reected in many global breeding indexes. Thus it is not surprising that Shauna sons rank well for

TPI, LPI, RZG and NVI. Supersire, Platinum, Diamond, Headliner, Shaw and Sargeant all now have daughters in many

Ammon-Peachy Shauna-ET came along as the original genomic transmitting machine! Shauna with a breed leading

heifer GTPI, the Andersens took the right approach with an aggressive ush program on her and her rst few sons for

Select just dominated the breed listings. Supersire, Headliner, Shaw on both GTPI and GLPI listings sat at the top on

both sides of the border! Never had one female transmitted such huge milk, rock solid Type and strong health traits.

Now with daughters and grand-daughters also having breed leading sons, the family has just perpetuated into consis-

tent, protable cattle generation after generation. Shauna to this day is still one of the special Planet daughters in the

world, both in how she looks but more so in how she transmits! Congratulations to the whole Andersen team!

We purchased Pine-Tree Alexa II-ET in the November 2011 Best of Pine-Tree Sale. Alexa (VG 86 VG MS) now

completes 10 generations of VG/EX cows with her 3rd through 9th dams all Gold Medal Dams and Dams of

Merit! The famous foundation cow Rilara Mars Las Ravena EX 91 is Alexas 7th dam and can also be found

in the bottom side of Mirages pedigree as the 4th dam. The $250,000 Rilara Mars Las Ravena, sold in the

Southfork sale in 1984, has long since proven her value to the Holstein breed.

One of our main reasons for adding Alexa to our breeding program is that we thought she would make a great
