WHY: An internship with the Salt Lake City Planning Division teaches and challenges students with hands-on experience in a range of planning activities such as public policy research, community engagement techniques, and graphic communication. Students have the opportunity to apply their studies to professional work, facilitating their transition from scholarship to practice. WHO: Open to graduate and undergraduate students advancing to their final year of study in urban planning, urban ecology, or related field. Completion of core planning coursework is required. WHAT: Volunteer a minimum of 10 hours a week for Summer Semester 2016, beginning June 1. QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold standing as a Junior or Senior, including completion of core planning coursework. Enrollment in a graduate-level program is preferred. Must know how to use MS Office Suite and ArcGIS applications. Demonstrated skills using Adobe Creative Suite.
