Schedule may vary from day to day. This is an example of what might be expected
during your camp week.
General InformationWhat to bring: Bible, bedding, pillow, towels, toiletries, flashlight, spending money (for The Snack, General Store, Cool Beans, Craft Shop, and Paintball), sports clothes for activities, and nice casual clothes for the informal services. An ATM is available on the campsite for your convenience.
Do not bring: Alcoholic beverages, drugs, tobacco or cigarettes of any kind, fireworks, ammunition, guns, weapons, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, magazines, apparel with inappropriate graphics or lettering. Campers should not bring cell phones or any other type of music/media device (excludes digital cameras).
Conduct: As a Christian organization, we want the atmosphere at The Wilds to be one of fun and adventure, while at the same time pleasing to God. For this reason we must insist that no tobacco, drugs, or alcohol be brought onto the campsite. We will not permit their use at The Wilds. In addition, we require that every camper be in attendance at chapel and evening services.
Ladies/girls note: Please bring knee-length skirts or dresses for the evening services. Any fashion worn must come at least to the top of the knee and cover the shoulders. Low necklines (front or back) are not acceptable camp attire. Loose-fitting pants, jeans, or knee-length fashions may be worn except when otherwise specified. Swimsuits should be one-piece.
Men/boys note: Long pants and collared shirts are required for evening services. Fashions to the knee may be worn at other times. Tank tops may not be worn except when designated by camp staff.
The Wilds reserves the right to ask anyone to change his or her outfit if, in the estimation of the staff, it does not comply with these standards.
By attending any camp program at The Wilds, campers authorize the use of photos or videos taken of them be used for marketing purposes.
Camp Nurse: A registered nurse will be available at all times.
Meals: All meals are included; those on special diets must bring any needed supplements that can be prepared in a microwave.
Late Arrival: Should your arrival be delayed past 5:30 p.m., please call the camp office at (828) 884-7811 to hold reservations and to give us an estimated arrival time. Please remind parents: In the event of an emergency for which they need to reach their child, they may call the camp office at (828) 884-7811.
Location: The Wilds is located in North Carolina off US Highway 178. If coming north on I-85, take SC 11 (first exit after Georgia-South Carolina border) and turn left onto US 178. Four miles north of the North Carolina-South Carolina border, turn left onto Old Toxaway Road and follow the signs to the campsite. From North Carolina on I-26, take Exit 40. Follow NC 280 West to US 64. Continue on US 64 West through Brevard to Frozen Creek Road (1.5 miles beyond the Route 178 Rosman turnoff) and turn left. Follow the signs for 5.5 miles to the camp.Visit our website for more detailed directions. Some online map sites or GPS systems do not give accurate directions.

Designed carefully and scheduled strategically, Spiritual Emphasis Weeks help reinforce the goals of your Christian school. For over thirty years, scores of Christian school faculties have been excited to see their students make life changing decisions for God through a week at The Wilds. By God’s grace, the result of many of these decisions has been a unified student body with solid spiritual direction.
This program is designed for Grades 7-12, and homeschool groups are welcome! Meals, program events, and three nights' accommodations are included in the cost. Group leaders, teachers, or administrators who stay with the students will only be charged $20. (Note: A male and female sponsor are required to stay with the students.)
