Sombrero Key Sanctuary Preservation Area

• Moving,removing,taking,injuring,touching,breaking,cuttingorpossessingcoralorliverock.

• Dischargingordepositingtreatedoruntreatedsewagefrommarinesanitationdevices,trashandothermaterials

• Dredging,drilling,propdredgingorotherwisealteringtheseabed,orplacingorabandoninganystructureontheseabed.

• Operatingavesselinsuchamannerastostrikeorotherwiseinjurecoral,seagrass,orotherimmobileorganismsattachedtotheseabed,orcausepropscarring.

• Havingavesselanchoredonlivingcoralinwaterlessthan40feetdeepwhenthebottomcanbeseen.Anchoringonhardbottomisallowed.

• Exceptinofficiallymarkedchannels,operatingavesselatmorethan4knots/nowakewithin100yardsofresidentialshorelines,stationaryvessels,ornavigationalaidsmarkingreefs.

• Operatingavesselatmorethan4knots/nowakewithin100yardsofa“diversdown”flag.

• Divingorsnorkelingwithoutadiveflag.• Operatingavesselinsuchamannerwhichendangers

life,limb,marineresources,orproperty.• Releasingexoticspecies.• Damagingorremovingmarkers,mooringbuoys,

scientificequipment,boundarybuoys,andtrapbuoys.• Moving,removing,injuring,orpossessinghistorical

resources.• Takingorpossessingprotectedwildlife.• Usingorpossessingexplosivesorelectricalcharges.• Harvesting,possessingorlandinganymarinelife

speciesexceptasallowedbytheFloridaFishandWildlifeConservationCommissionRule(68B-42F.A.C.).

• Discharginganymatterexceptcoolingwaterorengineexhaust.

• Fishingbyanymeans;removing,harvesting,orpossessinganymarinelife.CatchandreleasefishingbytrollingisallowedinSombreroReefSPA.

• Touchingorstandingonlivingordeadcoral.• Anchoringonlivingordeadcoral,oranyattached

organism.• Anchoringwhenamooringbuoyisavailable.• BaitfishingisallowedinSPAsbyFKNMSpermit.
