you in the dark
4. Why emergency lighting is important? Emergency lighting is
really essential for any home and public construction. Usually this
refers to a lighting fixture that is specifically intended to
provide light for a crisis, or power outage.
5. There are also varying types of emergency lighting products,
each lending themselves to certain situations in different ways.
Some of the most common types are escape route fixtures, emergency
standby lighting, and safety lighting.
6. Legal Requirements It is essential that your emergency
lighting system conforms to current UK and European regulations.
Failure to do so could put you and your business at risk of court
proceedings and large fines. Ultimately, you will be risking lives
if you do not strictly adhere to all aspects of safety in the
workplace. Resources to consider include: The Building Regulations
2000-2005 Edition The Fire Safety Order 2005 The Health &
Safety (Safety Signs & Signals) Regulations 1996 Local
authorities should also be consulted as they can often have safety
license requirements for certain types of premises (e.g. places
where the public convene such as pubs and cinemas). Other types of
premises (e.g. schools and hospitals) are required to have fire
safety inspections.
7. How does emergency light work? Most emergency lighting will
run off of battery operated power that you install with the
emergency lighting fixtures. This is so that the lights will
successfully operate in any situation during a power outage. The
most important part is the Emergency Conversion Kit.
8. The control circuit of emergency kit monitors the mains
supply, if the light works as normal, the inverter allows the
charger to trickle charge the battery pack in standby mode. In the
event of an earthquake, explosion, accident or other emergency
which results in the AC power supply to fail, the inverter
automatically activates the battery backup system and switches the
light on in less than 0.1 second. The system can be programmed an
emergency running time of 1 /2/ 3 hours depending on different
battery packs to meet the requirements under various
conditions.
9. What is Emergency Conversion Kit Ideal for integrating into
existing control gear Supplied with a fused terminal block and
pre-cut connection wires. The modules can be tuned specifically to
the lamp, giving better performance for the cell capacity. it
provides instant backup lighting when the normal power fails. These
units as the name suggests are used for converting existing
luminaries into emergency one. Each unit works in conjunction with
the existing ballast/LED driver to convert new or existing
luminaire fittings into emergency equipment.
10. Emergency Lighting Operation Type Maintained Operation When
in maintained operation the lamp of an emergency luminaire stays on
constantly at all times and stays lit for the minimum emergency
duration after a mains failure. In one word, lamp only lights when
mains fail Non-Maintained Operation When in non-maintained
operation the lamp of an emergency luminaire will only light in the
event of a mains failure and will stay lit for the minimum
emergency duration required. In one word, Lamp can light when mains
is present and will light when mains fail. Please Note: Maintained
units are capable of being wired to enable non-maintained
operation. SUSTAINED In the event of mains power failure one of the
lamps remain illuminated by automatically getting switched to the
integral battery source meanwhile at least two or more lamps is
energized during normal mains supply. In one word, There are two
lamps, one only works when mains fail and the other only works when
mains is present.
11. Easy installation and convenient usage This emergency
device can be integrated with the normal LED lighting system and
Fluorescent lamp based on specified requirement, e.g. demanded
emergency output power/emergency back-up time..etc.
