March 9, 2011Dear Parents/Students:

The ‘Festival Disney’ Tour is just a few short weeks away. Accompanying this letter is the Final Itinerary for the tour, as well as directions to all of our performances on Friday.

As you may know, it is district policy that all luggage is to be checked by an administrator before we leave. In past years, this took place the morning we left, when we first arrived at Calhoun. The early hour of this year’s tour will require us to do luggage checks on Wednesday, as the band has done for years. All students must bring their luggage in on Wednesday, April 6th, at any time between 7:15am and 3:00pm. That luggage will be checked by Mr. Conte or Ms. Hollings, and then stored overnight.

For those parents planning to cheer us on in Florida, a few reminders:

- You will not need a park ticket to watch either of the Festival Disney competitions on Friday (see attached directions). - You will not need a park ticket to watch the awards ceremony at the Disney Studios on Saturday night. A special gate will open at the main entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios one hour prior to the awards ceremony.

Remember, all students and chaperones will be required to have a photo ID with them at all times (official ID required for those 18 and older). The first time that this ID will be used will be at the boarding gate. Anyone without a valid photo ID will not be permitted to board the airliner. This is a federal regulation.

As was mentioned in the January letter, it is district policy to hold a mandatory parent-student-administrator meeting prior to any extended trip. This meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 28th at 6:00pm in the Vocal Room. All “Crescendo” and Concert Choir students must attend with at least 1 parent, or they will not be permitted to attend the tour.
