Notes on mySAP SCM - Manufacturing: Production Planning and Detailed

Scheduling courses

The course SCM200 (Business Processes in Planning (SCM)) gives an overview of the individual planning

functions of the SAP SCM component (APO: Advanced Planner and Optimizer) as an introduction to the coursesdescribed below. Course SCM200 (Business Processes in Planning (SCM)) focuses on SCM master data and

transaction data, integration of SAP ECC 5.0 (R/3) and SAP SCM (APO) with APO Core Interface (APO-CIF),

demand planning, Supply Network Planning as cross-plant and cross-vendor planning, demand program

planning, material requirements planning, and detailed scheduling, including integration of production. This

training course is a prerequisite for further, detailed training on planning with SAP SCM and is aimed at SAP APO

users in particular.

The SCM210 (Core Interface APO) training course covers the integration of SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP SCM (APO). It

focuses in particular on master data transfers and master data consistency. The basis for this is the APO Core

Interface (APO-CIF) SAP offers training courses ADM355 (SAP APO System Administration) and ADM555

(LiveCache Administration) in the SAP System Administration Curriculum, in the section on roles in SCM. These

are designed for SAP APO system administrators in particular.

The SCM220 (Demand Planning) training course looks at generating demand plans with different forecasting

tools by using marketing and sales information. This training course is particularly designed for SAP SCM (APO)

users.

The SCM230 (Supply Network Planning) training course deals with medium and long-term planning across the

entire supply chain. SNP uses planned independent requirements to plan in-house production quantities,

procurement from suppliers, and cross-plant stock transfers at distribution centers. Finite planning algorithms,

such as Capable-to-Match (CTM) or optimization, generate plans that ensure global material and resource

availability. Thus, planning synchronizes requirements and receipts within procurement, production, distribution,

and transportation - and highlights exceptional situations across the entire network. This training course is

particularly designed for SAP SCM (APO) users.

Course SCM250 (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (APO-PP/DS)) covers the extended methods of

production planning available within the PP/DS component of SAP SCM (APO). Alongside demand management

and requirements planning, the course also looks at the correlation with finite capacity scheduling. This training

course looks at the integration with other SAP SCM planning functions, particularly with SAP ECC 6.0, including

shop floor control. This training course is particularly designed for SAP SCM (APO) users.

The SCM612 (Transportation Planning & Vehicle Scheduling) training course covers methods of planning

transportation operations using SAP SCM (APO). This training course deals with logistics execution and is

particularly designed for transportation planning and vehicle scheduling users in SAP APO.

The area Manufacturing covers all the planning, execution, controlling, and monitoring processes involved in

manufacturing products (finished goods, assemblies, components). It is divided into the sub-areas production

planning and production management.

The sub-area production planning covers all the business processes involved in long, medium, and short-term

planning. This includes sales and operations planning, production program planning, material requirements

planning, and capacity planning.

The sub-area production management features a range of functions for controlling production. including

order-oriented production with production or process orders, repetitive manufacturing, Kanban, and

pre-manufacture of production lots. These functions provide effective support at all stages of the production

process, including material procurement, sequencing, creation of production documents, confirmation, goods

receipt, and settlement of production activities.

SAPSCM (Overview of the mySAP SCM solution), which also provides an overview of our software solutions for

supporting the entire logistics chain, acts as a general introduction to Manufacturing.

Notes on the mySAP ERP Financials - Financial Accounting courses

The Financial Accounting course AC010 (Business Processes in Financial Accounting) explores the most

important functions of financial accounting in SAP systems using a variety of example business processes. This

course does not deal with customizing the processes.

Building on knowledge acquired in AC010 (Business Processes in Financial Accounting), the courses AC200(Accounting Customizing I: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable), AC201 (Payment and

Dunning Program, Correspondence, Interest Calculation), AC202 (Accounting Customizing II: Special G/L

Transactions, Document Parking, Validation and Substitution, Archiving), AC205 (Individual Account Closing),

and AC305 (Asset Accounting) offer a deeper understanding of the relevant areas. These courses describe

customizing for the processes.

For a few years now, it has become evident that companies are no longer basing their annual financial

statements on country-specific regulations. Increasingly, companies' financial statements are being adapted to

accounting regulations such as the internationally recognized United States Generally Accepted Accounting

Principles (US-GAAP) or the International Accounting Standards (IAS) using reconciliation. Very often, an

independent statement is created according to these regulations. From 2005, all listed companies based in the

European Union are to create their annual financial statements according to IAS. The course AC206 (Parallel

Valuation and Financial Reporting in the SAP system) and will teach you to adapt out year-end closing and

consolidated financial statements to international accounting regulations using SAP. In order to attend this

course, you must first have completed AC205 (Individual Account Closing). The course AC805 (Cash

Management) demonstrates functions for cash management, short- and medium-term liquidity monitoring, and

electronic banking.

In addition to the functions that were previously available, such as simple controlling, this course will show you

how to perform profit center accounting, create profit and loss statements in accordance with sales accounting,

and undertake segment reporting in the new general ledger (AC210 New General Ledger (in mySAP ERP)). New

functions such as document splitting and real-time integration between CO and FI are also introduced. The

course also provides additional mapping methods for parallel valuation: the accounts approach and the ledger

approach (in the new general ledger!). This makes the new general ledger a very real alternative to the classic

general ledger. Existing customers, however, may continue to use the classic general ledger with SAP ERP

Central Component 6.0.

Course DERPAA (Delta in Asset Accounting (3.x > ECC) enables participants to become familiar with the most

important enhancements regarding function and integration in the Asset Accounting component (FI-AA) in the

areas of master data, periodic processing, and transaction-based posting between releases 4.0 and SAP ERP

Central Component 5.0.

If you are at the pushing the limits of what the general ledger, you can define your own ledger that complies

with standards, yet is flexible, using SAP technology: For example, up to 366 posting periods and parallel

valuation approaches (IAS/GAAP). Functionality and handling of the SAP system component FI - Special Ledger

is covered in the course AC220 (Special Ledger). This course teaches the most important control and data entry

techniques. From a legal valuation (in accordance with the cost of sales accounting) and management reporting

perspective, new fields (such as Special Region) can be entered into the coding block. These new fields are

stored in a customer user-defined table, which is made available to the applications (Validation, Substitution,

Report Painter, Manual SL Posting). Because the new fields do not exist in Controlling, the SL includes functions

for apportionment, distribution, and planning. In systems based on SAP R/3 Enterprise or later, two additional

functions are available: Documents can be posted in a special ledger, not just in the general ledger. Using the

Page 10: SAP Course+List

7/28/2019 SAP Course+List

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/sap-courselist 10/15

example of foreign currency valuation, this course shows you how to post a valuation approach in the general

ledger only. IAS valuations are oriented only toward the foreign currency's spot exchange rate. This valuation

run complies with the new accounting regulations and uses a special ledger only. Roll up technology condenses

the data and makes it available to other ledgers (such as the consolidation ledger).

Notes on the mySAP ERP Financials - Management Accounting courses

The course AC040 (Business Processes in Management Accounting (Controlling)) uses an integrative view of

Management Accounting to show typical standard processes in the ERP system from a Management Accounting

perspective. The course highlights both the integration between the areas Overhead Cost Accounting, Cost

Object Accounting, and Profitability Analysis, and the integration between upstream and downstream scenarios

such as Financials, Procurement, Sales, Manufacturing and Planning. AC040 (Business Processes in

Management Accounting (Controlling)) does not cover customizing, but provides course participants with a

conceptional, process-oriented overview. Because Management Accounting is so deeply integrated into the SAP

system as a whole, the course AC040 (Business Processes in Management Accounting (Controlling) )is

recommended only to those with a good business knowledge or a knowledge of SAP from other application

courses. We do recommend that those using CO to any large extent complete AC040 before taking other CO

courses.

Overhead Cost Accounting handles the different overhead account assignment and clearing objects, such as

cost centers, overhead cost orders, internal orders, activity types, and business processes in the SAP system.

Advanced methods for carrying out overhead cost controlling and onward allocation to cost objects and market

segments in the SAP system are covered in the courses AC412 (Cost Center Accounting: Extended Functions)

and AC420 (Template Allocation Procedure for Processes and Activities). The course AC412 (Cost Center

Accounting: Extended Functions) focuses on the activity allocation process. Additional controlling instruments, such as target/actual comparisons, marginal cost allocation, variance analysis, and actual price valuations are

also available.

The course AC420 (Template Allocation Procedure for Processes and Activities) concentrates on the allocation of

overhead cost processes to cost objects and market segments according to the casuality principle. Its primary

focus, however, is the template allocation procedure, which enables the allocation of processes and activity

types using information from SAP basic data such as cost drivers, or allocation criteria. By viewing the usage of

internal resources across cost centers, the company can be perceived on a process-oriented basis.

The courses AC505 (Product Cost Planning), AC520 (Cost Object Controlling for Make-to-Stock Manufacturing

and Sales-Order-Related Production (Service)), and AC530 (Actual Costing/ Material Ledger) all focus on product

cost accounting. The courses take the example of order related production, serial production, and process

production of industrial goods. The course AC505 (Product Cost Planning) discusses product cost planning. It

covers calculations using quantity structures, calculations not using quantity structures, periodic calculation runs,

and price updates in materials master data.

In the course AC520 (Cost Object Controlling for Make-to-Stock Manufacturing and Sales-Order-Related

Production (Service)), cost object controlling is discussed using the example of periodic and order-related

controlling in the SAP system for customer-neutral make-to-stock production. Cost object controlling for

make-to-order production is also covered, both with and without valuated sales order stock.

The course AC530 (Actual Costing/ Material Ledger) covers the basic functions of materials inventory valuation

in different currencies and/or valuations in the SAP system. In addition to describing the functions, the course

Page 11: SAP Course+List

7/28/2019 SAP Course+List

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/sap-courselist 11/15

also discusses updating variances at the preliminary valuation price (standard cost) and revaluating the

variances at the end of the period (actual costing with inventory valuation).

The courses AC605 (Profitability Analysis) and AC610 (Profit Center Accounting) cover the profitability

management options in the SAP system. Course AC680 (Analytics & Reporting in Management Accounting)

teaches the different reporting tools for Management Accounting with a special focus on the data analysisprocess. The different tools offered by the SAP system are used to aid extraction of qualified information that

enable collaborative decision-making from the raw data. This data, which is created in an ongoing process, is

evaluated using SAP Report Painter, SAP List Viewer, and particularly SAP Business Warehouse, the major

reporting tool focused on in this course. The course AC605 (Profitability Analysis) teaches profitability and

market segment analysis using cost-of-sales accounting. Profitability analysis is useful to evaluate market

segments by product, customer, a mixture of the two, and company units such as company codes or business

areas in terms of their contribution to earnings or contribution margin. The goal of profitability analysis is to

assist sales, marketing, product management, and company planning by providing them market information for

Management Accounting and decision-making. Profitability analysis is sometimes also known as profitability and

sales accounting.

The course AC610 (Profit Center Accounting) teaches you how to use profit centers to assist company

controlling. The aim is to establish both the total profit using the cost of sales and total cost methods, and key

company figures such as profitability and return on investment (ROI). In addition, AC610 also details transfer of

actual planning data and reporting methods.

AC650 (Transfer Prices) discusses multiple valuation of flows of goods with legal valuation, group valuation, and

transfer price valuation. This enables profitability with external partners and subsidiaries to be reported in Profit Center

Accounting and Profitability Analysis. The use of internal transfer prices enables analysis of profit center value-added,

while group costing enables consolidated results to be reported in Profitability Analysis.

SAP NetWeaver – Administration

SAP System Administration - General, J2EE & CTS Administration

Courses for SAP System Administration

The courses available for SAP system administration are aimed at the roles used in the administration and

technology areas of the SAP systems. SAP systems can, for example, be SAP CRM, SAP PLM, standard SAP R/3

(Enterprise), SAP ECC systems, and so on. From now on, these different SAP system types will be referred to as

"components" (of the mySAP Business Suite).

Roles can be either component specific or cross component with respect to a mySAP Business Suite solution.

The majority of SAP systems are based on the same technology - the SAP Web Application Server (SAP Web AS)

of SAP NetWeaver. The SAP Web AS offers the runtime environment for all business and technical solutions

within the mySAP Business Suite. For this reason, administration of the SAP Web AS is of particular importance

in all components, which means that certain courses offered in the training paths for the cross-component and

component-specific roles are identical. As a result, people who assume more than one role in the company can

cut the amount of time involved in training, while those are switching to a different role can easily identify which

knowledge they still need to acquire and which prerequisites they can already fulfill.

The training paths contain a mandatory part and, in some cases, optional courses (indicated by dotted lines).

The roles of the database administrator, the security administrator, and the CTS administrator (CTS = Change

and Transport System) must be assumed in all companies or the required procedures must be implemented(one person can assume more than one role).

Operating a productive SAP system also requires detailed knowledge of the architecture, function, and

administration of the other system components, such as the operating system and database. For information on

courses providing basic knowledge of this, contact our system partners or their course partners. Note also the

joint offering from SAP AG and AddOn Systemhaus GmbH. On the basis of these courses teaching you

fundamentals, we offer follow-up database courses that focus on the administration of these databases in the

SAP environment.

We have collaborated with all of our system partners to develop a range of training course tailored to the

requirements of SAP systems. A supplementary range of courses has been developed mainly in collaboration

with AddOn Systemhaus GmbH that focuses on the operating system and database.

The SAP courses focus on the concepts surrounding administrative tasks and how they are put into practice.

These concepts are largely release independent and certain new functions are made available by means of

support packages in earlier releases.

The courses for customers with systems as of Release 4.6 are definitely recommended. Certain courses,

however, require a minimum Release (e.g. SAP Web AS 6.40) because the content discussed is not available in

earlier releases (e.g. SAP Web AS Java Administration).

The systems used in the courses are implemented with the release required for the concepts.

Cross-Component Roles

The cross-component roles contain tasks that are required for a certain component but that are also relevant for

other components. CTS (Change and Transport

System) administration, for example, is required for both an SAP R/3 (Enterprise) system and for an SAP CRM

system. Transport landscapes need to be set up forthe various components, and the procedure for doing this is the same for all systems. Another example is

database administration, which is necessary in

each component for each database used.

  General Administration

Contains courses relevant for all system administrators in the SAP environment

SAP Web Application Server Java Administration

ADM200 (SAP Web AS Java Administration) is currently the course that provides training for administering SAP

Web AS Java.

  CTS Administration

  DB Administration

These courses cover the administration of various databases in the SAP environment. To improve your database

knowledge, we also recommend that you attend additional courses offered by your database provider or by SAP

AG in partnership with AddOn Systemhaus GmbH.

SAP-specific) security topics.

  Operating System Administration

Operating a live SAP system requires detailed knowledge of architecture, functions, and administration of other

system components, such as the operating system and database. So that you can become confident in all areas

of SAP system administration, SAP AG has joined forces with AddOn Systemhaus GmbH to develop a new series

of courses. Whether you want to implement new mySAP solutions or increase the availability of your system,

these new courses will enable you to get the most out of your system.
