“Hey, what stop is this?” he cried
“Petushkee,” a voice replied.

And dreamt he was in Paradise.
When he woke, he looked about,
Raised the window and leaned out.

Is it Kharkov or is it Kiev?
Tell me where I am,” he cried.
“In Petushkee”, a voice replied.

And dreamt the world was upside down

13.“I seem to know this station too,
Is it Nalchik or Baku?
Tell me what it’s called,” he cried.

In Saving The Pennies, you read about how Chaim and his wife Dvora longed to eat cake.
These sentences on how to bake a cake are not in the right order. Arrange them in a
paragraph. Use the linkers from the box wherever required. You can use the pictures as
clues to the steps.
• Mix in the flour in a light circular motion.
• In a separate bowl sieve the flour together with some baking powder and keep ready.
• Lightly rub some oil or butter in a baking dish.
• In a large bowl add the sugar and the butter.
• Add the eggs one at a time to the butter and sugar mix.
• Get the knife and plates ready!
• Let it stand in the microwave for another 10 minutes.
• Mix these two items up well until the sugar has blended in well with the butter.
• Next add vanilla essence to the butter and sugar and blend the cake batter well.
• Pour the cake batter into the baking dish.
• Put it into the microwave for 4 minutes.
• Once the sugar, butter and egg mix turns creamy, add the flour in spoon by spoon.

“We need a new synagogue, don’t we?” said the people of the town of Chelm. “Yes, we do,” said the rabbi. “All
the strong able-bodied men of Chelm must help us,” he added. “Will you go to the mountaintop and gather
heavy stones for the foundation?” he asked. “Of course! Let’s begin at once,” they said.
The men put the stones on their shoulders and trudged down the mountain to the town below. When they
arrived, the town policeman shouted, “Foolish men! You should have rolled the stones down the mountain!”
The men agreed this was an excellent idea. So they turned around and went back up the mountain with the
stones still on their shoulders. Then they rolled the stones back down again!
