KATIE LUTHER: HERE I STAND! Katharina von Bora was the beloved wife of Protestant Reformer Martin Luther. Her life was a shining reflec-tion of the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31. Dressed in Medieval costume and with a German accent, professional story-teller Pati Kachel of The Parable

Fund delightfully portrays Katie Luther. Based on exten-sive research, this presentation is historically accurate and seasoned with plenty of good humor. Through this creative characterization, listeners will enjoy learning about her abundant life as a Christian woman of great faith, a wife, a mother and a happy homemaker. She was called by God to serve as the first role model for a Protestant pastor’s wife, because prior to The Refor-mation, all clergy were celibate. *Deadline to sign up: Monday, June 8th

another. The simple fact is that we have to carry on without the loved ones who have passed and we miss them in so many ways. So don’t hesitate to bring up those who are no longer with us: talk about them, share a funny story, or shed a tear. It is good to do these things. And always remember to pray for the families and friends of departed. It can be a long road to healing. Well, June is here and perhaps now we will get some sunny, summer weather. The rain has been great though. Everything is so green and lush! Minnesota really is a pretty place to live. We are looking forward to the many activities of summer here at Scandia Shores and also spending time with family and friends on porches and decks and in back yards every chance we get. I hope you all had a lovely Memorial Day weekend!

Stay well and happy and God bless you all real good!

Nancy’s Notes – June, 2017

Hi all, As I write this, we are getting ready for the Annual Memorial Service and by the time you read this the service will be over. This is such a special event for us at Scandia Shores. It really touches my heart the way the staff loves this service and I know the residents appreciate it as well. It is so important that we remem-ber those who have left us during the past year. Though we know they are much better off than we are because they get to be with the Lord, we as humans need to process grief and share our sorrow with one
