SOME TIPS FOR SUCCESS!

GET GOOD GRADESThe grades you earn freshman year matter! Start off strong!

The grades you earn 9-12th grades are included on your transcript which is sent to the colleges and universities that you apply to.

Your transcript is a reflection of how hard you worked in High School.

An impressive Grade Point Average, which is an average of your grades, will help you get into the college of your choice.

BE ORGANIZEDKeep separate binders or folders for each class.

Get a planner and write down all your homework assignments with the due dates.

A “to do” list will make it much easier to remember all your assignments.

Plan to do homework every night…….if you have a big assignment or project due, make sure to work on it a little each night so that you don’t have to complete the full project all at once.

DO NOT PROCRASTINATEDo school work as soon as possible and set aside time each day after school to

finish up with that day’s assignments

The sooner you get things done, the more time you will have to do things you enjoy!

DEVELOP GOOD STUDY HABITSHigh school will be much less stressful when you do well in your classes.

Where you study is important. It should be a quiet space with limited distractions. We all study differently. Find what works best for you!

Bring everything you need, nothing that you don’t. Keep distractions away!

Know what the expectations are for the class.

We look forward to meeting with each of you next week! And can’t wait to have you join

Hawthorne High School!
