Corpus Christi Prayer

We thank you, our Father, for the life and knowledge which you have made known to us through Jesus your Servant; to you be the glory forever. Even as this broken bread was scattered over the hills, and was gathered together and

became one, so let your Church be gathered together from the ends of the earth into your kingdom; for yours is the glory and the power through Jesus

Christ forever.

Dear Parents, Teachers and Friends, Last Sunday, as well as being our parish First Holy Communion celebration, the Feast of the Trinity was celebrated. The feast has its most common prayer in the ‘Sign of the Cross’, and was proclaimed a Feast Day in 1334. Unfortunately, over time, the Feast has taken on an air of mystery and has become a challenge to the powers of comprehension. The purpose of the Feast should be one of reassurance and optimism.

The Father is associated with the positive and ongoing act of creation. The Father challenges us to be positive and creative with our lives.

The Son is associated with being a peacemaker: “I have come to bring peace, not conflict”. After His resurrection, His first words in each of His appearances were, “Peace be with you”.

The Spirit is associated with gifting. The Apostles illustrated the potential that the Spirit has for positive responses in our lives.

We are called to live in harmony and peace; we are encouraged to support one another, to love one another. God so desired a relationship with us the God sent Jesus. We need to respond to this relationship. We need to love back and we do this by our relationships with one another. We need to put energy into our loving. Trinity is a reminder of God’s love and a challenge for us to be pro-active with our love.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION A joyous First Holy Communion was celebrated last Sunday in our parish church. The students were very well prepared by parents and staff and were a credit to their families, the school and the parish. Special thanks to Fr Mariusz, Mr Adrian Good and Mrs Emily Holla who all ensured the day was a great success.

CROSS COUNTRY Tomorrow the Year 3 – 6 students participate in the Faction Cross Country event. This year, the students will be competing for their faction and individual honours, with the first three in each division winning a medallion. A cross country shield will be awarded to the most successful faction. The Year 6 students begin the event from the Carnarvon Community College at 9:20 am and follow the Interschool Cross Country course.

MIDDLE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY The next Middle School Assembly is being held this Friday, beginning at 1:00 pm.

YEAR 9 AND 10 EXAMS The Year 9 and 10 exams will be occurring next Week, beginning Tuesday, 5th June. We wish all the students the best as they demonstrate their learning from Semester One.
