Transdisciplinary Programme in Health and Technologies Career Opportunities

Social and Personal Wellness Concentration – corporate health and wellnessteam, publishing industry, health coach/consultant, music and wellnesscoach/consultant and specialist in the fields of health and nutrition, sports,family health, art and mindfulness.

Health Technology and Informatics Concentration – health informaticsspecialist, data-based medical diagnostician, social science data analyst, socialimpact research analyst, health data analyst, food safety technologist, machine-learning developer and integrated energy systems strategist.

Graduates will have the necessary skill set to apply and integrate technologies withtheir domain knowledge in health and wellness. They are creative and innovative,versatile and ready for career challenges and “technopreneurship”.

DescriptionTechnological innovation is transforming the global landscape of health andwellness, driving changes in society and creating new opportunities for the industry.This new programme serves to meet the Government’s top policy priority forInnovation & Technology Development and its application in various fields andsectors. Embedding a grand challenge concept, the proposed programme will play apivotal role in promoting innovations through the use of technologies to advancehealth and social well-being.

The programme will be open to students from all academic backgrounds. Studentswho wish to apply technologies and innovative solutions to promote health andwellness should apply.

The programme consists of two concentrations – Social and Personal WellnessConcentration and Health Technology and Informatics Concentration.

Curriculum FrameworkTeaching will be informed by cutting-edge researchparticularly in the Interdisciplinary Research Clustersof Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence in Healthand Health & Drug Discovery. Various pedagogies willbe adopted, such as research-led learning, problem-based and solution-driven learning, service-learning,and guided study as directed by academic advisors.

Students in the Social and Personal WellnessConcentration may choose courses in social identity& health cultures, health planning and communication,smart cities for healthy living and innovative solutionsfor social enhancement. Those in the HealthTechnology and Informatics Concentration may takecourses in health management system, biotechnology,smart living technology, and healthcare intelligence.

Admission The programme will be open to students from allacademic backgrounds. It will follow the generaladmission requirements. Candidates will be required tosubmit a portfolio and attend an interview.

The intake quota will be 25-35.
