ALL fees are listed per term. If a class is a year long (fall and spring term) fees will be collected at the beginning of both terms.

Lunch - We are making a change of our lunch time. Lunch will now only be 30 minutes. Impact, O2 and teens will still meet together to eat but we will no longer have lunch labs. 5 th and 6 th period - Since our lunch time is shorter, 5 th period will begin at 12:40 and 6 th period will begin at 1:40. Archery Team - Archery team is by invitation only. You must have taken classes at SCOPE from our NASP certified teacher.

All payments are due by the 1st day of classes each semester. 6 th -grade and up classes: Please take special note – there are several classes that meet on both Mon and Wed. If the class description has 2 meetings times listed, then it is a 2-day a week class. Some classes are year-long classes and are denoted with an asterisk. The fees are still per term, so that same amount will be collected again for Spring term. Drop-off policy: - Student must be at least 8 th grade and approved for drop-off. - Fee for drop off is $25 per period. *See handbook for additional drop-off policy information.* Class Minimums: If a class does not meet the minimum number of students, we reserve the right to cancel the class. We will notify you and work with you to try to place your child into another class. After registration begins, a class highlighted in RED denotes that the class is closed. A class highlighted in YELLOW denotes that the class has 2 or less spots left.

Name: Alabama History Cost: $30 Curriculum: Home School in the Woods "Make A State Ac�vity Pack" (currently available to preview on their Facebook page which

is called Amy Pak - Home School in the Woods Grades: 5th-6th Descrip�on: In this class your child will produce an impressive lap book full of informa�on he or she will be learning about

Alabama. We will also complete some hands on projects.

Name: CSI Cost: $22 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 6th-8th Descrip�on: Are you ready to become a forensic scien�st? In this class, we will learn to preserve and document a crime scene,

examine fingerprints, analyze blood spla�ers, compare handwri�ng samples, and more with hands-on, interac�ve projects. Students are expected to listen, follow instruc�ons, and work together with a partner. Par�cipa�on will be required. Please bring a pencil to class each week.

Name: Draw and Write Through History Cost: $35 Curriculum: Draw and Write Through History Book 3, provided by Scope Grades: 3rd-5th Descrip�on: This class combines "art, history, and cursive handwri�ng all in one! Draw and Write Through History is a great

supplement to any history curriculum. Students draw different pictures related to the historical �me period and then write about what they drew. It is Chronological, including Biblical history." Students will get their own copy of the book, a drawing pad, and wri�ng tablet. Pencils will also be provided.

Name: Greek Mythology Cost: $15 Curriculum: D’Aulaire’s Book of Greek Myths Grades: 3rd-5th Descrip�on: Classic Greek myths and legends, including the stories of ‘The Wooden Horse’, ‘The Minotaur’ and ‘The Odyssey’, as

well as discussion on Greek Gods and Greek culture. This class will be a study of Greek Mythology from a Biblical World View.

Name: Greek Mythology Cost: $20 Curriculum: The Story of the Greeks Illustrated by H.A. Guerber Grades: 6th-8th Descrip�on: Introduc�on to Greek History, Myths and Legends. We will learn about Greek Civiliza�on, their gods, culture and the

stories that have been passed down for centuries. This class will be presented from a Biblical World View.



Name: Great Composers Cost: $20 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 1st-3rd Descrip�on: This class will include a beginning method book and a recorder! We will travel through the Baroque, Classical,

Roman�c, and Contemporary periods in music history, stopping to meet several composers who have shaped our musical heritage. Along the way, we’ll also learn about the elements of music including rhythm, tempo, melody, and harmony. We’ll visit the sec�ons of the orchestra and learn about the instruments that bring music to life. This class will do lots of listening, but we’ll also do lot of moving, so comfy clothes are a must!

Name: Grocery Cart Math Cost: $17 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 3rd-5th Descrip�on: In this class we will learn how to use our math skills in a grocery store se�ng. We will go shopping in class and add up

our purchases. We will look at grocery ads to find the items we need. We will work with money. This will be a fun, hands on class to learn real life shopping skills.

Name: History Explorers of North America Cost: $20 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 3rd-4th Descrip�on: Each week we will learn about a famous North American explorer. We will learn map skills while looking at maps of

the explorer's voyage. We will also do a cra� or ac�vity each week to go along with our explorers.



Name: Illustrated Faith Bible Journaling Cost: $35.00 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 7th-12th Descrip�on: Bible Journaling is an exci�ng, new way to engage with God’s Word by connec�ng your faith with your crea�vity. In this

class, we will play with watercolors, stencils, washi tape, paints, hand le�ering, stamps, and s�ckers all while drawing closer to our Creator. We were created to create and I can’t wait to share this process with you. We will be using the book “A Workbook Guide to Bible Journaling by Shanna Noel and friends.”

social responsibility that can improve or tarnish a brand. This course is designed to introduce students to how business func�ons in today's society and will provide a founda�on for other business courses.

Name: Junk Box Wars Cost: $35.00 Curriculum: Teacher Provided Grades: 6th-8th Descrip�on: Each week the students will be divided into teams and given a project to construct from a box full of everyday items.

At the end of class they will put their crea�on to the test following a set of rules for that weeks project.



Name: Kickin’ It Cost: $12 Curriculum: None Grades: 1st-3rd Descrip�on: This course will focus on strengthening the body through fun physical drills, a little competition, and self defense

moves, both standing and on the ground.

Name: Kinder Fun Cost: $15.00 Curriculum: N/A Grades: K4-K5 Descrip�on: Kinder Fun is designed for those who have already turned 4 through those in Kindergarten. We will be working not

only on pu�ng le�er sounds together, but also working on sight words, handwri�ng, coun�ng with basic mathema�cs, cu�ng and other fine motor skills. Not to men�on, we will be having lots of fun!!

Name: Liberty’s Kids Cost: $15 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 1st-3rd Descrip�on: A class based on the animated historical fic�on television series Liberty’s Kids. The series follows the experiences of

Benjamin Franklin and four fic�onal associates during the American Revolu�on.

Name: Life Science Cost: $30 Curriculum: Life Science by Science Shepherd Grades: 6th-8th Descrip�on: Life Science by Science Shepherd, awarded the 2019 Teach them Diligently Award, is a robust and easy to follow

middle school, flexible curriculum that can be set to use as a 2 day or 5 day curriculum home study. We will cover topics in depth such as chemistry, earth, energy, zoology, nutri�on, anatomy and physiology, plants, gene�cs, DNA, crea�on vs. evolu�on, cell structure and reproduc�on along with experimenta�on, learning how to use a microscope and dissec�on lab.



Name: Literature Cost: $30 Curriculum: Book list (novels, novellas, and short stories) Grades: 9th-12th Descrip�on: This class focuses on a survey of classic literature and the development of formal wri�ng skills. During guided class

discussion, students will be introduced to concepts such as allegory, metaphor, and sa�re. This class requires approximately 3 hours of wri�ng homework per week in addi�on to required reading. Students should already have good grammar and composi�on skills; they will concentrate on essay technique and literary analysis in this class. The class counts toward the literature and composi�on components of a high school literature credit but does not include grammar instruc�on.

Name: Literature, Honors Cost: $30 Curriculum: Book list (novels, novellas, and short stories) Grades: 9th-12th Descrip�on: This class is a survey of classic literature for students with advanced composi�on and literary analysis skills. Class

mee�ngs will focus on lectures and guided group discussion. Students should expect 3 - 5 hours of wri�ng homework per week in addi�on to required reading. Composi�on work will include short and mul�ple-page essays. Students will be expected to use correct grammar and punctua�on. This class will fulfill the literature and composi�on requirements for a high school literature credit; it does not include grammar instruc�on. The expecta�ons will be higher in this class for both wri�ng and par�cipa�on than in the non-honors class.

Name: Li�le Green Thumbs Cost: $15 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 1st-2nd Descrip�on: Come learn the basics of gardening and how God made things grow! This class will engage in hands on learning which

means prepare to get a li�le messy!

Name: KidFit Cost: $10 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 4th-6th Descrip�on: Think a tradi�onal Physical Educa�on class. Students will complete elements of the Presiden�al Youth Fitness Program.



Name: Make It Cost: $15 Curriculum: N/A Grades: K5-2nd Descrip�on: Students will enjoy this early art class that will strengthen fine motor skills. We will use a variety of mediums.

Name: Make It Cost: $15 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 4th-6th Descrip�on: Students will learn a variety of concepts and art media. This class expands on the elementary founda�on in

understanding skills in visual arts.

Name: Marine Biology Cost: $170 Curriculum: Apologia's "Exploring Crea�on with Marine Biology", 2005. Textbook ONLY Grades: 9th-12th Descrip�on: Dr. Ma�hew Brown has a love for science that is contagious! An excellent teacher, dedicated father and all-around fun

guy. Your kids will actually enjoy learning science! This class will focus on marine biology including, marine vertebrates and invertebrates, inter�dal zones, estuary communi�es, coral reefs, con�nental shelf communi�es, deep ocean habitats, etc. Labs will include microscopy, observa�on of marine specimens, dissec�ons, etc. Prerequisites: Biology, Chemistry *Excep�on may be made for individual students.

Name: Math Tutoring Cost: $10 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 7th—12th Descrip�on: Looking for a li�le extra help to supplement your math studies? Bring your Math work and head our way to take some

of the stress out of isosceles triangles and mul�plica�on tables! Please bring any teacher's material that may be helpful for the tutors to be able to quickly refresh on a concept and help your child more effec�vely.



Name: Middle School Archery Team Cost: $55 Curriculum: N/A Grades: 5th-8th Descrip�on: The middle school team will train to compete in various meets and tournaments including, but not limited to,

regionals, state, and na�onal tournaments. This fee will be charged each semester and covers your team shirt and entry fee for two invita�onal tournaments, the regional meet, and the state meet. The na�onal meet may require addi�onal funds from parents.

Descrip�on: We will cover basic money management skills, banking, and business plans. Each child will start their own small business! In addi�on to the class fee, each child will invest $20.00 on the first day to deposit into the "Bank". This will be used throughout the semester to fund their own personal business venture. At the end, the child will have the funds returned plus any profit made. My goal is to give them life tools to be�er manage money and maybe start a real business one day! I hope to keep the class ac�ve by giving one assignment weekly, including crea�ng a commercial to act out and designing a business card. We will also have an ongoing vocabulary list for them to study.

Students must be familiar with the mul�plica�on facts from 0-12. Students are expected to par�cipate in all games and ac�vi�es and be respec�ul of others in the class. This class will not be teaching the facts but instead will be a place to build speed and accuracy. If your child has not learned the mul�plica�on facts, this class could be frustra�ng.

by make observa�ons and drawing conclusions - all with Hot Wheels race cars! Students will be expected to par�cipate in class discussions on the topics. Wri�ng skills will come in handy as we will be taking notes, wri�ng our observances/hypotheses, and recording outcomes. Be prepared to have fun but listening skills, following direc�ons and respect are crucial because the only way we can test and experiment with race cars is if everyone is on their best behavior. Homework will be minimal (if any) but may consist of tes�ng ideas at home with your race cars, recording outcomes and bringing your results back to class.

cosmology, earth sciences, and engineering. Join us as we learn about the lives of scien�sts, what they contributed to the field of science and learn about (and maybe even test!) some of their big ideas! Wri�ng skills will come in handy in this class as we will be recording facts, quotes and �melines in our notebook on these famous scien�sts. Weekly homework will be minimal, but students will be expected to complete a small project on a scien�st to present. (detailed op�ons will be provided in class). We may also have a scien�st dress up day where students choose a scien�st to dress up as and have everyone try to guess who they are.

We will delve into issues of the past and spend �me on specific decades (ie. the Roaring 20s). They will also learn about current events and how it will effect them.
