The cooler temps have certainly an-nounced that the end of summer is here. They got here just in time for the

Glidden Tour car games. I would like to thank all of the Sooner members that showed up to help us with the games. We even had the Brusts and Ochs from Tulsa show up to help.

With the cooler temps and the great shade from the old cotton-wood trees, it was a very pleasant afternoon. I was thanked many times by the tour participants for setting the games and making their first day in town a fun one. Check our website, Facebook and Page 5 for some great pics. September brings us the Mustang Western Days parade on the 12th and the International Model A Day picnic on the 19th at Eldon Lyon Park in Bethany. These are some of the best days with the cooler weather to get that "A" out so we hope to see you there. Will Langford

We are so sorry to have lost one of our long-time members, James “J.W.” Woodard, Sr. He was one of the sweetest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He al-ways had a ready smile and a gentle “ribbing” for me. He and Doris had not been able to come to meetings very regularly lately because of his physical health but they were always missed. Our deepest love and sympathy goes out to Doris and all of the Woodard family.

The SOONER MODEL A CLUB is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Model A Ford Club of America. All correspondence for the club should be sent to the address above. General Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the months of January thru November. Meetings commence at 7:00 p.m. and are held at Will Rogers Garden Center at 3400 N.W. 36th in Okla. City. All members are welcome to attend the club’s Board Meetings, which are held on the first Tuesday of each month at a location designated by the President and advertised in the Scuttlebutt. Membership dues are $20.00 per year. The primary requirement for membership shall be an interest in the objectives of the organization and a desire to participate in its activities. Actual possession of a Model A Ford is not a necessity. A member must be of good character as to be of benefit to the club, its functions and activities. An ac-tive member must be a member of the Model A Ford Club of America.

Also, order t-shirts must be ordered by September 15. Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri offer a wealth of adventures! We will have lots of Route 66 to explore, activities galore, great eats and MORE!!! Tulsa needs to have a count for Friday lunch and Saturday dinner. Some members will be leaving from the Sooner Club on Thursday and go to the Joplin Third Thursday Art Fair, arts and crafts, live mu-sic, food trucks, shops and restaurants will keep us busy. Friday we will visit several sites in Carthage, MO and return to Joplin to explore in the afternoon. Saturday we will visit three Joplin sites and dinner will be at the his-toric Gryphon Building. Gangsters were active in the heyday. There will be a prize for the era best dressed. PLAN TO COME JOIN US!!
