School District Administrators (SDA)/School Based Administrators (SBA) Scholarship - Introduction

The School District Administrators (SDA) and School Based Administrators (SBA) organizations of the Sarasota County School District are pleased to collaborate in offering scholarships to students who are graduating from Booker High, North Port High, Pine View School, Riverview High, Sarasota High, Suncoast Polytechnical High or Venice High in 2017 and are enrolling in a post-secondary institution. Students are considered eligible if they are high school seniors who will be graduating with a standard high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.

Each scholarship award is based on the student’s record, community/school involvement and financial need. For this reason, the application requests very personal financial information. Please be assured that all information included on a scholarship application will be kept completely confidential.

Deadline/Address for Application:A complete application and supporting documentation must be received no later than 4 p.m., Friday March 24, 2017. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Award Date:The scholarship committee will determine the recipients of the scholarship in late-April. All applicants will be notified via email, whether or not they are scholarship recipients. Students selected to receive a scholarship also will be notified by U.S. Mail.

Award Amount:The scholarship committee will annually establish the scholarship amount based on funding availability and number of awards granted. A typical award is $500-$1,000 per student.

Payment:Payments will be mailed directly to the financial aid office of the college, university or other institution, prior to the beginning of a term or semester.
