Fabric A (5043P-78 Sea Creature Banner Panel – Royal):• Fussy cut (1) 21” x 40” panel.
Fabric B (1351-Royal Just Color! – Royal), cut:• (2) 3” x 40” WOF strips.• (2) 2 ½” x 26” WOF strips.• (7) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.
Fabric C (5047-77 Coral and Fish – Navy), cut:• (2) 4 ½” x 42 ½” LOF strips.
Fabric D (1351-Light Teal Just Color! – Light Teal), cut:• (1) 6 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (4) 6 ½” squares.• (3) 3 ⅞” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (28) 3 ⅞” squares.• (2) 2 ½” x 42 ½” WOF strips, piece as needed.• (2) 3 ½” x 36 ½” WOF strips.• (4) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 1 ½” x 60 ½” strips.• (3) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 1 ½” x 50 ½” strips.
Fabric E (5050-76 Sea Horse – Teal), cut:• (2) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (14) 3 ½” squares.
Fabric F (5052-75 Sea Shells – Multi), cut:• (2) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (14) 3 ½” squares.
Fabric G (5045-77 Jelly Fish – Royal), cut:• (2) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (14) 3 ½” squares.
Fabric H (5053-17 School Fish – Light Teal), cut:• (2) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (14) 3 ½” squares.
Fabric I (5051-55 Coral Reef – Coral), cut:• (3) 3 ⅞” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (28) 3 ⅞” squares.• (1) 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (4) 3 ½” squares.• (4) 2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2” x 62 ½” strips.• (3) 2” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 2” x 53 ½” strips.
Fabric J (5046-11 Sea Creature Border Stripe – Aqua), fussy cut:• (2) 5 ½” x 65 ½” LOF strips, each centered on the dolphin stripe.• (2) 5 ½” x 53 ½” LOF strips, each centered on the dolphin stripe.• From the remaining fabric, cut (4) 5 ½” squares, each centered on a whale.
Backing (5048-17 Allover Sea Creatures – Royal), cut:• (2) 83” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together and trim to 71” x 83” to make the back.

press towards the darker fabric while assembling, unless otherwise noted by the arrows.

1. Sew (1) 3” x 40” Fabric B strip to each side of the 21” x 40” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 26” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the unit to measure 24 ½” x 42 ½” to make the Unit 1 rectangle (Fig. 1).
2. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the Unit 1 rectangle to make the Center Block (Fig. 2).
3. Place (1) 4 ½” Fabric I square on the bottom right corner of (1) 6 ½” Fabric D square, right sides together (Fig. 3). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 3). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle ¼” away from the sewn seam. Flip open the triangle formed and press to make (1) Unit 2 square (Fig. 4). Repeat to make (4) Unit 2 squares total.
4. Place 3 ⅞” Fabric I square on top of (1) 3 ⅞” Fabric D square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 5). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 5). Cut the (2) squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 6) to make (2) half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 3 ½” square to make (2) Unit 3 squares (Fig. 7). Repeat to make (56) Unit 3 squares total.

5. Sew (1) Unit 3 square to the left side of (1) 3 ½” Fabric F square. Sew (1) 3 ½” Fabric E square to the left side of (1) Unit 3 square. Sew the strips together lengthwise to make (1) Unit 4 square (Fig. 8). Repeat to make (14) Unit 4 squares total.
6. Sew (1) 3 ½” Fabric G square to the left side of (1) Unit 3 square. Sew (1) Unit 3 square to the left side of (1) 3 ½” Fabric H square. Sew the strips together lengthwise to make (1) Unit 5 square (Fig. 9). Repeat to make (14) Unit 5 squares total.
7. Sew (1) Unit 4 square to the left side of (1) Unit 5 square to make (1) Unit 6 strip (Fig. 10). Repeat to make (14) Unit 6 strips total.

Quilt Top Assembly (Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.)10. Sew 2 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 36 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.
11. Sew (1) Pieced Side Border to each side of the Center Block. Sew the Pieced Top Border and Pieced Bottom Border to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.
12. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 50 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.
13. Sew (1) 2” x 62 ½” Fabric I strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2” x 53 ½” Fabric I strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.
14. Sew (1) 5 ½” x 65 ½” Fabric J strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 5 ½” Fabric J square to each end of (1) 5 ½” x 53 ½” Fabric J strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.
Layering, Quilting and Finishing15. Press the quilt top and 71” x 83” backing well. Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up) and baste. Quilt as desired and trim excess batting and backing when quilting is complete.
Binding16. Cut the ends of the (7) Fabric B binding strips at a 45-degree angle and sew end to end to make (1) continuous piece of binding. Fold in half lengthwise and press wrong sides together.
17. Sew the binding to the front of the quilt, raw edges together. Turn the folded edge to the back, and hand stitch in place.

8. Sew together (4) Unit 6 strips, end to end, to make (1) Pieced Side Border (Fig. 11). Repeat to make a second Pieced Side Border.
9. Sew together (3) Unit 6 strips end to end. Sew (1) Unit 2 square to each end of the sewn strip to make the Pieced Top Border (Fig. 12). Repeat to make the Pieced Bottom Border.
