~th_~iy~y: Organic battalions and attached units fired a total of 254 missions . l/g of the s e were unobserved missions, 17 being counter-battery missions fired by Div Arty units and 25 were BINGO missions assigned by Div Arty. The Corps units fired a total of 62 unobserved missions, some of which were also counter-battery missions; and 12 were observed missions, including registrations and missions on enemy gun3. 155th FA Bn tired l missio~ agninst enemy guns at 3031-4221 with good effect reported by Ai~ OF. 93rd AF \ Bn fired 7 missions against enemy gun positions, one of which caus ed an explosion at 3365-5648. Two fires were also started by a SE:: Ccdd mis si on against gun positions. 522nd FA Bn reported very good ef :fcct a gain s t personnel dug-in at 3144-6078. Tree bursts accounted for many ca sualtie.c:.

I t i s worthy of not e t hat the l3lst FA Bn succes sfully fired shells, s or<.·~· of which contained medical supplie s and s ome of which contained "D" Rations. The shells used wer e f i t ted with tine f uze and they were set so as to burst ab ove tree-top l evel. An adjustment wa s obtained by the FO ·with lst Dn, l4l st Inf Regt, rmd the fire f or effect was successful.
