NOMINATION CARDS are available for purchase from the Show Office 2 weeks prior to show and in centre ring during the Show. Refunds will NOT be issued for unused Nomination Cards HORSE STALLS AND CAMPING are available for Competitors ONLY – To receive Stalls and Camping allocations competitors MUST complete the required forms and return them with full payment to the Secretary by 4 p.m. 29th June 2018. Stalls are limited and will be allocated in the order they are received. NO stalls are available for Stallions, or horses competing in Halter Classes (Class 1D). ELECTRIC FENCE (OR PANELS) for horse enclosures may be erected only in designated areas – sites are 4 metre x 4 metre and persons having stable allocations for their horse/s cannot also have horse paddocks (electric or panels). CAMPING sites are 16 metres x 4 metres – they are for the duration of the show only with electricity available. PLEASE NOTE – If you require more area than 16 x 4 metres then you will have to pay for more than one camp site. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY – PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY

The Stewards reserve the right to add to, substitute, alter or delete any event or condition. If, in the opinion of the judge, an exhibit is not worthy of a prize or is out of the class, the judge has the right to refuse to

make an award. THE DECISION OF THE COMMITTEE WILL BE FINAL ON ALL POINTS WITHOUT RECOURSE. All competitors entering and competing in Section 1 (Horses) do so at their own risk. The Society accepts no

ALL RIDERS, (INCLUDES ADULT RIDERS) AT ALL TIMES WHEN MOUNTED ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR AN APPROVED SAFETY HELMET (MUST COMPLY WITH STANDARD AS/NZS 3838, EN 1384, OR ASTM F1163). THIS RULING WILL BE ENFORCED.

No spurs other than dummy spurs are to be used in all age events. STALLIONS: Can NOT be kept on the Showgrounds overnight, allocated Stalls, or compete in the Hack Classes. JUMPING: All events will be judged under EA rules, horses in graded events must be registered with the EA.

Performance cards must be produced before competition will be allowed. All jumping events will be decided over a course and obstacles as Stewards direct. Ponies and Galloways may compete with horses; however the course will be set for horses. All riders in jumping events must wear formal hunting attire to the approval of the Stewards. Junior riders may NOT compete in both AGE and GRADED events on the same horse.

DEFINITIONS: Pony ~ 14 hands and under. Unless otherwise stated all ponies 12.2 hands & under must be ridden by a child under 12 years. Galloway ~ Over 14.0 hands and not exceeding 15.0 hands must be ridden by riders 12 years & over Hack ~ Over 15.0 hands must be ridden by riders 18 years & over Tableland Shire = Open to Residents of what was the Eacham, Atherton, & Herberton Shires. Horses to have been domiciled

in the appropriate areas of the old shires for the 6 months preceding the Malanda Show District = Any horse which has been in the district for the 6 months immediately preceding the Show and is the

property of a resident in the areas which were once the Shires of Eacham, Atherton, Herberton, Mareeba, Mulgrave, Johnstone, Cairns, Douglas, or Cardwell (Pony Club Zone 18)

Local = Open to Residents of what was once Eacham Shire. Horses to have been domiciled in the area for the 6 months preceding the Malanda Show.

Maiden = An animal which, up to the time of starting the event, has never won a first prize in a hack class in competition at any Agricultural show.

Novice = A horse or pony which has never won a Novice or Open Championship at any Agricultural Show. Class is lost once a horse competes in an Open class and is placed either First, Second or Third, or wins Champion Novice.

Riders ~ LADY and GENT rider to be 17 years and over on the day of competition ~ A NOVICE RIDER is a rider who has never come first in an adult rider class at a registered Show ~ In LADY’S HACK and GENT’S HACK, lady or gentleman to ride one horse only ~ In PAIR OF HACKS, horses MAY be the property of separate owners.
