    Security EngineeringEnrichment &Development Program

    SEED

     The Security Engineering Enrichment &

    Development (SEED) Program is a three year

    development program to train and certify NSA

    Information System Security Engineers (ISSEs).With certification in Information System SecurityEngineering, hands-on network security training

    and a network of ISSEs available for collaboration,

    participants graduate from this program as one ofNSA’s premier ISSE professionals.

    Why SEED?

    • Establish a comprehensive training and

    certification program for an expert and diversecadre of ISSEs.

    • Provide opportunities for program participantsto gain experience in a variety of systems security

    engineering disciplines and solve NSA’s mostchallenging Information Assurance (IA) problems.

    • Build a community of NSA ISSEs who can leverageeach other’s expertise through collaboration and

    the sharing of information and experiences.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer

    Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security,Electrical Engineering, Information Assurance,Information Systems Management, Mathematics,

    Network Security, Systems Engineering or arelated technical degree.

    • Knowledge of Programming Languages,Networks/Network Security and Operating

    Systems is desired.

    • Achieve the NPS ISSE Certicate(a 3.0 GPA is required)

    • Complete at least three tours (all tours must beapproved by SEED program management)

    • Complete CISSP Level 1 Certication

    • Complete a Class Project

    Graduation Requirements

    In addition to formal training, participants will

    complete a minimum of three tours to gain

    experience in Network Security, InformationAssurance, and Systems Engineering.

    Tours

    Formal Training is mandatory for all program

    participants. Participants will come togetheras a class for 6 months to complete the Naval

    Postgraduate School (NPS) Information Systems

    Security Engineering and Assurance Certicateprogram. The NPS ISSE Certicate Program

    includes courses in Network Security, Secure

    System Principles and Information SystemsSecurity Engineering. All courses are taken via

    Distance Learning.

    Training

    Upon graduation from the program, participants

    are required to work as an ISSE within their host

    organization for 3 years.
