Performance Improvements

General Performance Improvements Improved resource management in the LifeStream application will increase LifeStream performance for users who may be logged in throughout the day. Faster Loading Times The 64-bit version of LifeStream features faster loading times. Users will spend less time getting to the Current Status screen for the first time.

Enhanced Security

Enhanced security enables greater administrative control of the LifeStream interface and configuration. All Users Strong Passwords

• Five login attempts before a temporary lock-out of 30 minutes • Utilize all keyboard characters (8 to 50 characters)

• A temporary password may be assigned by an admin to locked-out users.

• Complex character requirements on passwords (see next slide).

• Users will be prompted to change their temporary password after logging in.

• No repeating characters, user names or password reuse after expiration

• System logging of lock-outs • Users will be asked to change their password upon login when strong passwords are enabled.

• Password changes will occur on a regular interval

(default is 90 days). Reminders will notify user when expiration date is approaching.

• The minimum password length (as low as 6) and

expiration interval are configurable by an administrator.

Strong Passwords

LifeStream users will see this pop-up notification (right) after: • Receiving a temporary password (next slide) • Assignment to an organization with Strong Passwords • Strong Passwords is enabled for the first time

By default, strong passwords may contain 8 to 50 characters, including spaces. At least three of the following character types are required:

• Uppercase letters (A - Z)

• Lowercase letters (a- z)

• Numerals (0 - 9)

• Symbols (!, $, # and more)

Show Passwords lets you see the password you typed.

Temporary Passwords

A locked-out user will see the following pop-up after five attempts at logging in:

An administrator may assign a temporary password or unlock the user via the Users menu.

Edit a user and uncheck the User Temporary Locked Out box to allow the user to login again. Select Generate Temporary Password to clear the old password.

Write down the new temporary password shown in the pop-up window and send it to the user.

Multi-Organizational Users

The Multi-Organization feature allows care providers to work more efficiently with access to multiple healthcare organizations and related patient alerts from one screen.

The Current Status screen on the right appears when Multi-Org users log on (new features highlighted in orange). From this start screen, care providers may navigate between patients at different healthcare organizations without the need to log in/out of each organization’s account.

Responding to Vitals

Access a patient and a related organization by responding to vitals from Current Status screen. First double-click on a patient or select a patient and choose Tabular Trends from the Navigator Pane. The organization the patient is assigned to will be selected. Regular LifeStream menu options return.

Multi-Organizational Access

The organization column appears in the Current Status window when All Available is selected.

The Organization menu may be utilized while in the Current Status screen or Users screen.

After an organization, user or patient is selected, all of the regular LifeStream menu options will appear again as shown below.

Missing Data Alerts on Scheduled Readings

The Missing Data Alerts Only on Scheduled Readings feature is turned off by default. When enabled by an administrator, it suppresses alerts for missing data when a patient retakes a biometric reading outside of a scheduled time. This may be useful for clinicians handling a large amount of missing data alerts.
