Difficult Times

1920’s

“There is no doubt that if the Central's were allowed to contest against (SANFL) "B Grade" teams they would make

Sooner or later the "Port District" teams must be divided to allow the Centrals to come into their own

A good team going to waste - through lack of opportunity. This team has not been defeated in two seasons and has lost only 4 matches in 5 years. during this period Centrals have promoted 22 players to the senior Port Adelaide side

their presence so keenly felt that they would soon establish their claim for inclusion at league level

1886 Semaphore FC AGM - W.D.

Sweetapple – PAFC Committee

“the club had been unfortunate in that some of its best players had gone over to the Port Adelaide Football Club, but the latter had thereby been strengthened”

the Semaphore Football Club is considered to be the leading junior team of the Port, and be was glad to notice that they had supplied some of the leading players of the Ports
